Ladies and Gentlemen, here we have pretty much the most emphatic illustration of why these types of videos are crap and why Shad really should just stay away from fictional shit, ESPECIALLY when it's clearly NOT meant to be practical in any way, shape or form.

Is it practical? No
Does it fucking matter? Hell No

DEATH IS FUCKING PLAYING? The only reason that he's fighting at all is to have fun toying with his victim. I'd even argue because of that, it's MEANT to be impractical because that makes the fight harder and therefore more fun for him. His weapon is just meant to be cool looking and an alternate take on the fact that versions of Death typically wield scythes. THAT'S IT, there's nothing more to it than that nor does there need to be.

And he has the nerve to complain about people...well complaining about him ignoring the in-verse context, always going back to the same defence of "these videos judge how practical they'd be in real life", only for him to constantly tackle weapons that were CLEARLY never meant to be practical, it's a completely redundant exercise for weapons like these.

And obviously, regardless of what he claims, it's not JUST for fun or irrelevant. We know that he feels basically any weapon that appears in a work of fiction should be practical because "realism and suspension of disbelief, makes the story better/more immersive etc. etc." because fuck creativity right?

Stick to historical and actual medieval shit Shad for the love of God, or at least only do fictional weapons that are TRYING to be practical or which are NOT clearly reliant on magic, fictional technology or superhuman shit being involved.

That's the dumbest part because that's not even true by most mangaka standards. Again, Bleach's epilogue had Rukia and Renji literally go visit the World of The Living just AFTER Rukia's Captain Coronation so she can meet with her friends and watch Chad's boxing match. This is closer to Horikoshi seeing what Kishimoto did with Naruto and went full blast into that.


Of course, I hated that entire thing and wished Horikoshi just made Deku into something closer to Batman or hell, make him IRON MAN ON HIS OWN! But if you are gonna bless Deku with All-Might's power and state he's gonna be the greatest hero ever, atleast stick to that rather than immediately go "Oh I actually meant my entire class and me" and then go "Oh wait, I meant just my class, barely anyone gives a fuck about me" and he lost his powers so he's literally back to square one.
Either stick with what you promised or have Deku lose his powers but still have his friends, fame and otherwise while remaining that way(Hell, if you want that cherry on top, make it so that Deku is actually stronger, faster and tougher than a typical human due to his constant training with OFA and the only reason All-Might didn't get that(or any of the predecessors) is because he's too heavily wounded/they died before they noticed and he can still be a Hero, just a small-time one who uses his resourcefulness to help folks.

But he didn't go with any of that at all and just went with the dumbest scenario both times.

The fact I see on the Spacebattles section of MHA dudes legit acting like "No, Deku's friends did see him, it just wasn't all that much" is literally changing what we are told personally by Deku just so they can seem smarter than everyone else. Dudes need to get swirlies, straight up. Deku outright says that they have basically all but lost contact with him due to "scheduling conflicts", that's not keeping in touch, that's outright excommunicating a motherfucker.
 

Honestly, this has been my biggest problem with Shad for the longest time. Yes, I get it, he wants to show these weapons are impractical in practical situations but the problem is that he's doing it in the most ludicrous way possible because no one genuinely believe these weapons are practical.

Scythes have never been practical as a genuine weapon even if you have it as a double edged weapon... but is it a cool as fuck looking weapon? HELL YES IT IS:


The sheer fact that there's a TvTropes page that details how massively impractical a Scythe is in real life... but also points out just how thematically appropriate one is(Due to Scythes being seen as THE taking of life weapon due to it's ties to various Death figures), it doesn't fucking matter.
Rule of Cool is a thing and it's also obvious Death is just fucking around with Puss In Boots when he uses those 2 Sickles and legit could kill him in any other fashion but that's NOT what he's aiming for primarily(Which is why he gave the fuck up when Puss finally stood up to him and accepted his fate).

It's ultimately the equivalent of basically being like "You can't kill someone with a Book in a war" and it's like "No shit but dude is killing motherfuckers with a book in fiction, it's fucking fiction!"

Finally saw the chapter. Aizawa is straight up asking Deku multiple times if he's lonely, Deku looks melancholic af in those panels. SB is denying reality.

Somehow villains are barely emerging and only people with strong Quirks can become heroes, yet Pro Heroes can't take a day off a month to meet up.

Anyway, I saw Deku give the "you can be a hero too" speech to some kid whose quirk is to produce plates from his head/hair and throw them. That's worse than Mineta. Imagine having such a worthless quirk that it makes Mineta better by comparison.
That speech really is worthless if you don't have a strong quirk or connections.

This is SB, they can deny the shit out of reality while acting like this shit is "real life" or "it makes sense" when it doesn't. Horikoshi was going on the latter half of the manga of how tight Class 1-A is so to suddenly have them all just not give a shit about Deku because "They was funding the Iron Man suit" for 8 years(They got All Might a working suit in far less the fucking time) really shows he was going for a really stupid ending that's "realistic" but doesn't follow through either.


It never did. That's precisely the problem. Deku is trying to be what All-Might was for him but Deku forgot he only got that far due to All-Might's powers. The fuck is someone gonna do with the power to produce plates from his head/hair? Unless he can create any type of plate(Like Carbon Plates) and make them as big as he wants, that shit isn't going anywhere. Horikoshi is no Araki.

Dude got that far with All Might's powers and the rest of the Vestiges. All Might went against AFO with three times and came out on top each time, truly an inspiration. Yet Hori can't do any of that for Deku, dude saved Japan live ffs.
I swear, Ochako had more emotional moments with Toga than Deku. Bro is such a simp he even told Uraraka "You are my hero.", immediately got hit with the blue checkmarks.
The kid has been shown to create normal white, round plates. He may be able to manipulate their size, but that's probably it.

Horikoshi has humility for realizing Deku isn't worthy of being the greatest hero, that apparently people speedread through the final chapter and didn't understand the extremely obvious but these motherfuckers do?

Like I get this dude hates Deku but it's extremely clear that the former sentence? Is how most of them keep defending how Deku really kept in touch with his friends, it just wasn't "often"(ignore the fact that Aizawa stated multiple times if Deku was lonely and Deku very clearly is lonely and tries to play it off)
 
Media literacy is so dead, people will make stuff up even if the author is giving them the info right there on the paper.
Jokes aside, they just don't want to accept the fact that Hori went against everything the manga was supposed to stand for, and then try to spread that around.
 

Shad: Dante's moves would look better if they were more realistic (he has ACTUALLY said this btw).

Shad would probably have an aneurysm about the Cerberus nunchucks but that's just another example of a weapon we all KNOW isn't practical but just looks cool as shit.


Just trying to imagine him trying this shit with Cereza when the woman literally attaches swords, whips and a chain chomp from fucking Mario to her FEET and effectively uses them while break-dancing...simply because she can.

There's a time and a place for practicality and realism in fiction, this shit ain't it.

It is and there's so much cope that it's honestly becoming hilarious in how hard SB is going at it to pretend they aren't crazy:

A) It's a mistranslation of of what happened and that they can't meet as a group(Which why would Aizawa say that then and why would Deku look forlorn over it? He wants to meet everyone at once or else he's lonely?)

B) As stated above, Deku still meets his friends, just not that often(It still contradicts the scene above and Aizawa would look like an idiot for saying it and Deku looks like an ass for dead ass lying).

Like, you can't make this shit up at all in how insane these dudes are acting, especially with Deku still being seen as an inspirational hero... when that is not the case in the very chapter they are shilling.
 
Again Ill note ainz internet friends were better friends despite rarely if ever meeting in real life, then the people whom deku gave everything to save.

The author of overlord made a group of nerd gamers who were basically wow raiding together, trying to escape their hellish lives have stronger connections and generally being better people then anyone in dekus life. Which is fucking hilarious, you gotta work to make characters come across that shallow.
