OBD Convo #57: Even through the most dif days, this light of justice still burns

Who cares. Accelerator’s show sucks and Touma’s suffers from poor adaptations

Can’t wait to see Mugino getting her own series animated

Is it wrong that even after a decade of watching Bethesda spiraling downward into mediocrity and empty promises in real time and nearly all the creative minds behind Elder Scrolls having long left this developer that I’m still mildly optimistic about this game, at least from this leak?

I mean, taking place in Hammerfell AND High Rock in a single game is pretty dope and literally all they need to do is copy their homework with Skyrim just on a bigger map, which they’ve had more than enough time to study and analyze its success with all the Skyrim re-releases they do

Also, give us good character designs and leave out the alphabet / pronoun community and feminist cows for this to be a success

It’s really telling when even this much has you in doubt about modern Bethesda being able to pull off

:hestonpls

I know I should've expected the "no classes" tidbit since that was already the case with Skyrim, but I'm still let down tbh.

Still expect obvious DEI character designs since it started development before the big pendulum shift, and you just know there's gonna be shills crawling out of the woodworks defending this by using the awkward vanilla faces of Oblivion and Skyrim as examples.

Personally I just want Skyrim 2, and if they can somehow do that, I'll probably check it out. Otherwise? Back to modding Skyrim I guess.

I thought it was a fine enough trade-off for just doing whatever you wanted and with any Race

Want to be an Orc that ditches the axe for spells? Go for it. Want to be a Wood Elf that mixes up the Bow and Stealth with some good old Sword and Board play? Knock yourself out.

That said, we do need more Class Based RPGs with real time combat on consoles with Elder Scrolls ditching it

Fingers crossed that THQ Nordic gives us a Kingdoms of Amalur sequel

I feel like they might just have enough time to get rid of the pronouns and work on the character creator so that the women’s faces don’t look fucked up.

Oblivion made everyone look like a potato but Skyrim’s designs were awesome. I’m one of the few people that thought even Elves in Skyrim looked mostly great besides High Elf guys with their ridiculous chins

Had to give all my High Elf characters a nice thick beard to hide that ugly chin

Pmuch

It’s always back to Skyrim with every disappointment Bethesda’s released after it

this is going to be a reminder that all of you should check out The Wayward Realms if you haven't already (game is still in development but I digress)

Fucking hell, this is yet another reason I hate the current business model of game taking half a decade at least to make

Even years later when JD Vance is running this country, we’ll still be seeing games looking like the DEI slop that was entertainment during 2020-2024 because development for them was made in that timespan

:wow

"It's a magical space dragon. Grow up, it can fly"

That appropriately enough would basically be my response to any question of why "insert Pokemon here" can either fly or carry their trainer around across regions despite some of their small sizes?

IE. Shut the hell up, they're fictional creatures that display superhuman characteristics and even physically impossible shit on the regular. Machamps are stated to be able to throw mountains (at least I think that was Machamp) and you're questioning how a Pidgey can carry a ten year old? :jordangif

Reminds me of the early MLP:FiM days when people would honest to God make theories and discuss how Pegasi were able to fly when their wings were clearly not big enough to do so...in a series with the subtitle Friendship is MAGIC. :heston
