aged noctis, is literally one of the best example of char growth, both design and char quality wise, from a spoiled jrock uchiha like boi, to a punished/experienced older man, who is both brave and courageous enough, to save his loved ones/and the other citizens, by doing what must be done
after his inner growth, facing forward, accepting his own mistakes and fighting/defeating the nightmare, who had trapped him, and his whole lineage, by choosing the heroic ending, in the end

but chars wise, aged noctis, was one of the few things, that made the game, worthy to play, he should had a bigger active role though, getting him, only on the final act of the game, wasn't enough, aged noctis, was truly next gen regis

So Royal Knights. I feel like for the Digimon franchise they are popular because prominent members are popular individually.
But as a group they kind of suck.
Like in almost every series they appear they literally fight each other.
I don't remember a time where they as a group actually fight together or fight for good.
They are always compromised.
At least the divine beast has shown they actually work for the better of the digital world and most will work with each other. but the Royal knight are almost all the time actually opposing each other to the point they're practically taunting each other to fight.
Even the 7 demonlord work with each other better than the Royal knights.
as a unit they fucking suck.
