I somehow forgot this had happened. I'm glad I reminded myself of this goldmine of a segment. Flair and Lethal made magic happen on ad-lib.
You can tell that even Tony Khan knows the redemption story for Page is MUCH more interesting than anything Will has going on. Hence Ospreay getting like twice the mic-time in a vain attempt to try and justify why him winning this match and going to All In would be ANYTHING but fucking idiotic (and so the much better talker wouldn't show him up).
Hangman: Trying to redeem himself after 2 years of being a psychotic loose cannon and earn the love the fans and his family give him.
Ospreay: Just wants to have the World Title going into Forbidden Door in London.
I'd be more assured the stupid thing wouldn't happen if not for the fact that Khan already proved last year that he'll ignore better storytelling possibilities for the sake of ONE MOMENT (Bryan winning the AEW title in that case).
Now it being the main event makes sense but I stand by what I've said before, Page needs to win this or you wont be able to pay me to care about the headline feud going into their biggest show of the year.
