It's not even to prevent flavour solving, it's just a tradition in this group's Christmas games that town has two colours

I remember one year we tried to draw a distinction somehow (that green Christmas meant traditional religious stuff and red Christmas meant modern day stuff) but that went nowhere because Jesus Christ Himself flipped red
