Yes, it had to, earlier.Raizo vs Fuku had to be settled at some point.
If they can wrap Orochi and Kanjuro alongside him then all we'll have left is the the Yonko and CP-0.

"You said you wanted to be the king of pirates? I'll do you one better - I'll turn you into the king of seaman"chapter of the year
Just rumors? OkRumours right now razio vz fukuro
More than likely Fuku vs. Raizou.Just rumors? Ok
I don't think it's crucial enough to take an entire chapter at this point in time. It would have made no sense for that build-up to entirely shift to Fuku vs Raizo. Kaido vs Luffy is the climax of this arc, and King's defeat is the final step in the build-up towards it.I would have preferred if he ripped the band-aid off earlier, but we were going to have to deal with it sooner or later.
I'm assuming Oda delayed this fight so long because Fukurokuju's defeat will tie into the downfall of Orochi, who is one of the major villains of this arc, and has more narrative weight in the plot than any of Kaido subordinates.
It is, but Raizo vs Fuku isn't going to have as grave consequences as the other battles, It's not what people's been waiting for. Orochi is on his last legs as is. It's symbolic, sure. But at this point in time, considering where the story's at, I don't think it deserves major focus.I disagree a bit.
Wano opening up is a huge narrative goal for the series and has ties to the Void Century. I think Raizou and Fuku are a representation of that and deserves more focus than that. Also Zoro vs. King was never going to be the second main fight. Law and Kidd vs. Mom seems to be the main fight after Luffy vs. Kaidou.
Hell even in this chapter coming out the CP0 is hyping Law Kidd, Luffy. Saying these fights will determine the outcome of the World.
It seems that way, just based on Totally Not Mark's reviews and how he only seemed to praise it more as he went on. It very much seems to be a series that works better reading in bulk as opposed to reading week to week. Also because you are reading it all in one go. You will probably not see any decline in OP tbh @Adamant soul
