I'm pretty sure Enel's 200,000,000 Volts Amaru form is actually the first time we see Logia Awakening
That form always stood out to me, but after seeing Aramaki has a similar giant transformed state, and that this doesn't seem to be a normal thing most Logias can do, makes me think their awakening is this kind of massive elemental transformation.
Enel's having the Nioh scarf too, like awakened zoans do, makes me think this is another example of Skypiea having a ton of intentional or unintentional foreshadowing to future concepts.

But back to what OG said. I think Oda originally said Skypiea was the halfway point for the series. So really he was thinking that some of these things you were mentioning were Def planned before hand. Enel having awakening would be grand. However, I'm not sure big body logias would be the great awakening I would personally want.
i think there will be more to it than just a larger stronger form but Enel and Aramaki being the only ones to showcase that, is definitely sus to me, especially with how many things keep tying back to Skypiea and Enel still being one of the bets Observation haki users weve seen to date …in an arc where we didn’t even know what haki was

I was happy to just watch a slug fest, win or lose, and you're telling me it fucking ends on a holding call penalty where the receiver wasn't getting to the ball holding or not anyway? The Eagles already legitimately fucked up in places where they genuinely deserved that loss, but ending the game by letting them just hold the ball for the next minute and 30 seconds to eat time is such a dull way to end an exciting game.
