“Hey Shin, glad to see you standing” Kane said with a smile as he gently move Stella to a seat before getting word from Steiner, as he responded.

“Understood, moving to check in” Kane said before staring back at Stella as he mouthed “don’t deploy him” as he then quickly rush toward the Brian condor and dock with Great Mazinger, as the Mazinger roar out.

SCRANDER DASH!” Kane yelled out as he flew out of the base and started heading toward the target position as he then spoke to Steiner.

“Question, how do you want me to greet them? Head on or a flyby? Given out situation”
@TrickOLF @Kabronex @Ironboi13

"Fly by. In case something tries to jump you."

It didn't take long for Kane to get a visual on the incoming mechs and even from the way he was keeping his distance, it was clear that their calls for distress weren't at all unwarranted; as one of them had sported some very nasty burns on one side and a missing arm to boot and the other had its head and upper torso mangled, likely from a bad missile hit that it had somehow not been destroyed from. If the Mazinger pilot were to take a closer look, he'd note that these mechs resembled the ones Thalerhof had, but seemingly more advanced, apparent even through all the damage they sustained.

Soon enough Kane would get a call from one of the mechs.

"Oh thank christ, a super robot! The dinos haven't gotten here yet! Guide us in quick! Our TSFs are coming apart at the seams and we're almost out of fuel!"

The pilot seemed way too happy to see the Great for some reason, even though by all accounts the Mazingers were complete unknowns in this iteration of Earth. Guess they're just glad to see a mech and not some bio-mechanical horror? But then Stella's voice comes over Kane's comms.

"Kane, be advised that we've detected another unknown contact, several klicks same direction as the two oncoming mechs."

Stella clearly isn't the kind for games of any sort... And it's also unlikely that her instruments had a failure of some sort, so it could be an actual hostile contact...

"I'll investigate." David responded, "Make sure the pilots are received safely."

The Wing Freedom flew past the TSFs, almost like it was merely leaning forward rather than flying. David kept his eyes on the radar and switched to the monitors, carefully looking between the two in the event something lashed at him.

Before Kane could respond, he would notice the Wing Freedom flying ahead as he nodded.

“Understood, I’ll be on standby after I drop off these two, careful out there”

Kane said as the Mazinger flew above both of the TSF and pick them up like they were children, flying them safely over to the air base as he then spoke to Stella.

“I’ll drop off these two at the air field, then I’ll head back to see if it a boogie that chasing these two”

As Kane then look down at the TSF as through Great loud speaker, he spoke.

“What happen on you guys base? What type of Dino freak ambush you guys and how you manage to get out this far without being shot down?” Kane said as these Dino machine had the power and speed to blitz these machine apart.. could it all be a trap? If so Kane was ready in case something was coming up.

"It was goddamn chaos...! One moment nothing was happening, then everything started burning and exploding... Nearly all our base's TSFs were gone in the blink of an eye. I don't know if anyone else managed to make it out on foot or otherwise, but given that a mechasaur showed up not too long after the explosions... Fuck... Dino bastards had it all planned out..."

The pilot takes a breath to calm himself down from his adrenaline high and potential injuries.

"Thank god for the techs being lazy asses though... If it weren't for them fucking up the maintenance, these two new models would've been wrecks along with the rest of the TSFs in the main airfield and we wouldn't be here..."

Then, the other pilot speaks, but compared to his partner; he sounded far less lively, likely badly injured.

"H-Hate to be a spoilsport Lt... But what about the groupie...?"

"Oh right, fuck... Kid, there's a scaly bastard hot on our trails, sent to keep the news from spreading. Thankfully you and your friends showed up just after our jump units hit bingo fuel, so we hopefully didn't just come all the way over here to die tired and afraid."

Given he was actively looking for it, David quickly got a radar return of the incoming hostile and thankfully it wasn't stealthed like that other machine that took on the Mazingers. However, the hostile also managed to detect his Wing Freedom in response to the revelation, slowed its airspeed, made a sharp 90 degree turn, and began to climb. If David were to switch to his Gundam's high-powered cameras, he might just catch a very slight glimpse of jet exhaust a few klicks ahead.

He dare not take any chances, even if the dinosaurs were fascinating cyborgs, he just didn't have the time to waste studying them in combat.

Valrin opened his mouth... only to be cut off by Daniel's responce. Ah an excellent responce!

"My associate here is correct. The initial Interview was done without due process on the only Civilian among us. In Human culture, such an act is abhorrent, so I acted as a legal representative for my associates as is the right for all Humans to have. I did not influence them to do anything they did not want to do. Instead after I pointed out their lack of hospitality by Human standards, their commanding officer offered his judgment. After that, he decided to help destress his troops to be more accommodating to any of us who follows. I had nothing to do with his decision making."

"But I suppose the commanding officer sent to meet with us agreed with you that bringing us here was a mistake. Infact, he personally recommended that we be assigned to the Sunrider as Auxiliary forces. Where you, presumably, would be able to keep some sort of watch over us. Considering Ignus and mine own dispositions to Xenos, do you believe that to be my will? Do you think I wish to be stuck with Juves in Fetish gear piloting Knights as an assignment?" The disgust in those words were the most honest things Valrin had said all day, so plan that everyone around could not call him on that. The stray thought of "He just realised that aspect didn't he" flew through Daniel's mind. "I presume I made just as an impression upon him as I did you. I assume in his "Hospitality" he assigned me to the one place we all *least* want to be".

"So if you would be as kind to show us back to our ..." Valrin didn't have to hide his sigh "assignment, that would be..." His skin crawled, and everyone could sense his displeasure for his next word "appreciated".
Daniel was somewhat taken aback by the stranger’s appearance. An intelligent reptilian species wasn’t exactly unheard of due to the existence of the Dinosaur Empire back on Earth, but it was still a surprise to see someone so similar to their ilk here. It was a different world, so perhaps a non-human should’ve been expected, but considering most of these Cerans looked human, this came as somewhat of a shock. The reptile’s physical appearance wasn’t the important part, of course. Not to Daniel anyway. It was the topic he brought up.

I knew it, I knew that mind control shit was a bad idea.

Still, Daniel wouldn’t throw Valrin under the bus, despite his…tendencies. He was still somewhat of an ally despite his questionable methods of dealing with this base’s personnel. The AF pilot sighed, and resolved to speak on Valrin’s behalf.

“I think you might be jumping to conclusions,” Daniel replied. “People on a military base trying to relieve tension and boredom this way isn’t exactly unheard of. These things just happen sometimes, even to the most disciplined forces.”

It would be best for everyone if this was simply swept under the rug.
It was a reasonable case from the pair. After all, every military has experienced this kind of disciplinary breach at least once. But Vicious knew full well the signs of psychic trickery, and he wasn't going to buy what they’re selling. Valrin’s mental alterations certainly could have been far worse and more invasive, but what of next time and the time after that? The psion clearly has no qualms with abusing his power, and that wasn't even mentioning the naked contempt he has for anyone that isn't part of his group; even then, given what had happened in the Hangar earlier with that younger pilot, which clearly hadn't been an "accident"...

The Psion and his companions could not be allowed to roam freely as they pleased. But until he finds a way to counteract the outworlder psion, preferably with one as powerful as him, and warn others of the sheer danger he represents, perhaps it would be best to let them be a part of the Sunrider's auxiliary forces as he claimed... But it was plain to see that the psion intended to distance himself as far away from Cera as possible before subverting the ship and its crew, though for the moment he had one card in play to at least try and get some assurance from Valrin.

"Very well psion, you may return to your assignment."

Vicious replied. He can still feel the glares and contempt from the surviving crew of the now thoroughly vaporized ship, but he paid them no mind. They can dislike him as much as they want, so long as they kept themselves orderly enough.

"But if you show even one hint of treachery, know that you will pay the price."

Unbeknownst to Valrin and Daniel, the reptilian alien's helmet, which he had been wearing all this time; was secretly recording the entire conversation to the Sunrider's bridge right at this very moment. With the intent of letting his Captain and his 2IC see for themselves the potential danger of someone like Valrin being loose here and if it came down to it, Vicious would use the threat of a precision strike right at his position against the psion.

The question left Liam perplexed: there were supposed to be guards stopping him? It made sense sure, but he found nothing in the hallways suggesting that, meaning that they just left for some reason or another.
If the interrogation taught him anything, it was that the Cerran were overzealous to a fault, always trying to get the information they needed, so why...

...

He met Valrin in the hallways, coming to the interrogation even if the next one to be processed should have been Daniel...

'Great Scott, what did he do?'

"I'm sure this is some kind of misunderstanding. I was released from the interrogation not to long ago and I was trying to reach the Hangar to oversee the repairs on the NULL. If you are worried, I can wait here untill you can assign me an escort, if not escort me yourselves."

Liam was trying to appear as nonthreatening as possible, raising his hands up in addition to his already slitly hunched posture. Admittedly, he never tought as himself as dangerous, too soft and cowardly, a minor change to show them that he wasn't meaning any harm.
One of the guards suddenly gets a call on his radio and judging from his rather animated reactions to whatever he was hearing, it certainly doesn't bode well for Liam. And it was further reinforced by the guy giving the scientist a much nastier glare than earlier.

"Yeah right... You're coming with us."

The guards grab hold of the scrawny scientist and take him away.

"You outworlders are all the same... Thinking you own the place!"

But before Liam could ponder upon his fate and how it led to this moment (which was obviously Valrin's fault), the three started to pick up sounds of what appeared to be an argument over on the next hallway and approaching closer, found the party...

"What the hel?!"

"Dammit! They're all there!"

One of the guards quickly tries to alert the rest of the base through his radio...

The AF army pilot was surprised to see Valrin actually bothering to shake hands with the alien, but any positive impression he may have had of the psychic was thoroughly erased when he wiped his hand on the wall, and then on Daniel himself.

“Really?” Daniel said, giving Valrin a completely nonplussed look.

Before they could all walk away from this scene, another issue presented itself. Apparently the Ceran base’s staff thought the three needed to be seized and brought under control. Obviously that was absurd, only Valrin deserved that kind of reaction. But it was in Daniel’s best interest to not let this escalate. However, he didn’t feel like dealing with this himself, not when there was someone here better suited for it. He turned to the reptilian alien.

“I suggest that you be the one to correct this…misunderstanding. Unless you want to make this worse for everyone,” Daniel told the saurian.

All Liam wanted to do right now was to curl up into the Null's cockpit and ignore everything that was going on in this ship.
Instead, he was treated like a criminal by the people that had way more power over them, trying to reason with a trigger happy pilot that resolved all his problems with a psychic assault on his enemies.

"Please, Valrin," he started, internally cringing at how petulant his voice was right now, "You have tried to interfere in every situation since we landed here. Just... stop..."

Already prepared for the eventual fallout, Liam started to look at bth sides of the argument, and trying to not react with surprise and confusion at Vicious true face.

David was ready now, these dinosaurs flew fast, and he somewhat of a read on them now. David quickly changed to Gundam mode, and fired a volley from the Buster Rifle. The Wing Freedom's twin-eye cameras traced the exhaust and used it to calculate where to shoot to intercept.

He dare not take any chances, even if the dinosaurs were fascinating cyborgs, he just didn't have the time to waste studying them in combat.

If there was one, there was most likely more, David had to be ready for the when, not the if.
Even with David's canny aim and the targeting software of his Gundam, the distance between him and his target was simply too large and gave the beast-machine ample time to perform evasive maneuvers. Rather than stick around, it's pilot or whatever guiding intelligence it had quickly decided to hit full afterburners and flee, unwilling to start a fight with foes that can actually fight back.
“Consider yourself lucky, the Great Hero arrive to help out!”

He said before making to the airfield and gently set down the TSF, letting the medic do their work and such before contacting David.

Even with the sorry state of their machines, the TSF pilots could see that their pursuer had given up the chase; but they weren't that happy about it.

"It's getting away... Eh, what does it matter, the dinos will come looking anyway even if it gets shot down."

“It might be fleeing to get backup, don’t blame it since it would be idiotic to fight against a machine that took down one Dino already”

Kane said before he then use Great Mazinger to help as he spoke through the com.

“I think we should take this chance to move away before that Dino comes with a welcoming party”

"Glad that we came to an understanding" Valrin grabbed Vicious's limp hand at his side, weathering the murderous glare he recieved in turn. After he shook his hand Valrin then wiped his hand on the wall, then on Daniel, as he proceeded to start walking back to the ship.

Valrin paused in his walk to look back at Vicious: "do you want us to handle that or should you?"
The reptilian looked at Valrin with naked contempt, knowing full well what letting him “handle” the current matter would entail. Then he glanced at Daniel and Liam, and took their words into consideration. Out of everyone here right now, Vicious truly was the one who could diffuse the current situation. Without speaking another word to the trio, he swiftly faced the guards and got his words out just before they could call for help.

“It’s alright, I have this handled.”

However, Vicious was met with looks of disbelief, with one of them even visibly sneering at his words.

“Really, lizard man? Because to us, it looks like they’re too much for you,” one replied, a slim man with a rather crooked nose.

“Yeah, let the professionals take it from here merc, now if you'll excuse me...” another proclaimed, this one bulkier than the other, square-jawed and bearing the appearance of a typical action movie hero. Undaunted by the disrespect shown even by what should be his friends and allies, perhaps telling that such treatment was nothing new to the alien; Vicious simply points at the patch on his chest: The Sunrider's badge, and as the guards looked at it, their sneering expressions slowly, painfully turned into realization before big man disengages his radio.

“Alright, fine, you've got jurisdiction over them, now what?” the one with the crooked nose asked.

“They were assigned to be the Sunrider’s auxiliary forces until further notice, so escort them to a secure area,” Vicious replied. The guards turned to the trio.

“If that’s how it is… Okay, you bunch, follow us. No more funny shit, understand?” The guards then proceeded to lead the mismatched group to where this auxiliary force should be, with Vicious falling a few paces behind the rest, keeping a watchful eye on Valrin in particular.

Inwardly, however, Vicious simply wanted to sink to his knees at having averted the worst. He knew full well that neither Kayto nor Ava would follow through with his suggestion if Valrin had shown even less restraint; Ava, while she had wisdom beyond her years, simply hadn't seen and experienced the same horrors a Psion wreaked upon those it considered its lessers and Kayto too much of an idealist to consider sacrificing anyone, even mercenary scum like him. With that in mind, the alien could only hope that the dice would continue to keep falling in his favor...

Elsewhere, aboard the Sunrider, the bridge crew collectively loses their breath at the situation somehow resolving itself, having watched the entire fiasco through the reptilian's hidden camera and very much glad that the first kills for their ship wouldn't be their fellow Cerans, especially a member of their own crew at that. The first to speak now that the tension had diffused was Ava, expressing her utter disbelief and exasperation of things to come.

"Auxiliary crew, really?"

"Ava, they wouldn't accept being anywhere else other than here, for better or worse..."

Young and green as Kayto was, he could clearly see just what his ship represented to the outworlders; their quickest and safest ticket out of Cera. As much as he agrees with their intention to leave, he also knew full well that getting rid of them wouldn't be as simple as going to the nearest neutral port and sending them off their way, not with PACT making moves on the sector and how the void of space has gotten so much more dangerous ever since that day 10 years ago... Regardless he'll press on, he now has responsibility over these strange outworlders and what sort of Captain of the Ceran Navy would he be if he didn't step up to the challenge?

"Captain... I really don't like that look you have."

"What?"

"Your eyes were sparkling, the exact same way they did during the Sunrider's launching."

"Urk... Was it that obvious Ava?"

His 2IC simply sighs and gets back to work, leaving the matter to hang over the young captain's head.

Daniel breathed a sigh of relief as the situation was seemingly resolved and followed the guards as they were escorted. Right now there were no issues, but new ones would undoubtedly appear. The three were strangers in a world that was lightyears away from each of their own worlds and whatever dangers were out there, they were woefully ignorant of them. No matter what though, Daniel could not allow himself to die here. He still had enemies back on Earth that he needed to kill.

Auxiliary crew, they said. It was a bit of a farce, but the Sunrider was their best bet at the moment. Daniel hoped the crew wouldn’t be too much of a headache to work with, but he prepared himself for the worst.

The confirmation of their new placement on the Sunrider was oddly conformting for Liam: it was a familiar position, very close to what he was already doing before he was involved with that space anomaly, even if in a much reduced role.
Maybe he could ask to be put on more exploratory missions? It would be a nice change of pace from what they had to endure on that massive craft...

Actually, if anything like that was going to become a regular thing, he will probably be needed to stop Valrin fron mingwiping everyone, in some way...
Maybe Vicious had some information on the matter.

"So we are officially a team now? I guess we fought well in that wreck, but I am not used to it. All the test I did on the Nul was 1-on-1 skirmishes or flights to stress out the reactor..."

Once again, the scientist's mind was distracted bu thought of his machine, nervous about the idea of leaving it with the Cerran, but after Valrin's stunt, it was probably not wise to ask to see it again.

@Sigismund

Soon, after a fairly distressing walk through the base's now-empty hallways and walkways, the usual hustle and bustle having been put to a dead halt upon the news of what Valrin had done, the outworlders were then put before General Granger along with his rather sizable bodyguard on the courtyard in front of the Fort Commandant's office. Living up to his rank and title, the General was a hard man in both appearance and demeanor... And he was utterly livid! For not only had the outworlders acted in such a manner on his base, his domain, putting into question his authority; but did so even after he had given them the red carpet treatment... His anger clearly went beyond mere offense and Valrin could feel it in his glare; the man's pride bore a grievous wound and he knew that the Knight Scion was the one in particular who dealt that fell blow...

"I gave you outsiders the benefit of the doubt when you had your little spat inside the Sunrider. But now, after you turned my men into zombies and ruined what was already a pretty awful day... It’s quite clear that you lot are far too dangerous to remain on Ceran soil."

Considering his next choice of words, he then pauses, deliberately stretching out the dead air and Valrin could feel the conflict brewing in his mind... He didn't even need to sense the color of his soul, it was written all over his face. But soon, with a loud sigh; the General makes his verdict.

"But... As much as I want to do otherwise, you will have to be dealt with in a civilized manner. So this is what’s going to happen: You will serve as the Sunrider’s "auxiliary crew", as the mercenary put it."

Granger directs his gaze onto Vicious, who to his credit doesn't even return eye contact; instead keeping his attention towards the outworlders.

"All of you will become Captain Kayto’s problem and the Ceran military will only have to put up with your antics until all the paperwork and red tape are done, as far as I’m concerned, we all benefit from this arrangement. Any questions?”

The general dearly hoped there weren’t. He didn’t want to deal with these outsiders any longer than necessary, and he made no secret of it.

Valrin upon sensing his indignity, did the only thing any Imperial Official did when confronted with surrender.

He would stretch it out to be as painful as possible.

"Actually, yes I do have a question. Why are you so indignant after most of this was your own fault? You're the one who ordered our interrogations without due process, a right upon any world owned by Men. Do correct me if I am wrong there, please, I'll have further criticisms to share. With the destruction of the Cruiser, we saved you a hazardous memetic disease from being spread across your world. Even after that was explained by your Naval Detachment, you're the one who ordered us apprehended by a Military force to be brought here. Then you decide to visit us with the lack of Hospitality, treating us as enemies or criminals for a detonation in a lifeless desert far away from any Settlement that harmed noone , and act offended when after such a slight upon us, when I return it in kind. "

Valrin stares then directly into the man's eyes. Both know exactly what he can do in such a position, yet the only thing that happens isn't Grangers mind slipping out of his control. It may be a different Miliatry, but Valrin was familiar with Lord Generals who did not understand their true role and objective.

"Why are you not taking responsibility for your own orders General? "

As they all kept walking, the trio at last met the commander of this base. He was quite understandably irritated with the current events, though the general thankfully didn’t resort to any extreme punitive measures. Instead, he clearly wanted to wash his hands clean of this matter and hand it off to someone else. That was fine in Daniel’s book. If all parties can leave here relatively intact, then that would be ideal.

“None at all,” Daniel replied. But then…

Valrin, being himself, apparently had to fuck it up. This was beyond bad, the lunatic was cratering relations with the people who were giving them some form of shelter. Well, until they were all transferred to the Sunrider anyway. Daniel resisted the urge to simply throttle him, a testament to his discipline and self-control, though both were being sorely tested.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?! Do you want these people to be our enemies?!” Daniel turned back to the general.

“I apologize on his behalf, the recent events must’ve been more stressful for him than we thought. It’s no excuse for his outburst, but I hope you can understand.”

Yeah, they were fucked.

With a speed that almost gave him neck damage, Liam started to flap him mouth soundlesly, flabrgasted at Valrin's blatant disrespect.
Did he want to make everyone an enemy? He was the one that was causing a mess whenever he went, and Daniel and Liam had to try and patch things up.
His MS had tried to shot him and they were still willing to help, why drill them for doing the bare minimum when dealing with unknown pilots?
Valrin, being himself, apparently had to fuck it up. This was beyond bad, the lunatic was cratering relations with the people who were giving them some form of shelter. "Yeah, this is not the place to make these kinds of accusation, right?"

Liam turned towards his companions as if searching for approval, but he noticed soon enough that there wasn't any approval to speak of.

"I'll... just shut up..."
