Her sadistic tendencies are second only to her lust for power, the pursuit of which lead her to using one of her underlings to study the effects of the Fruit of Helgan on citizens in Menancia, only to later use the same fruit to hollow out the majority of the population of Niez during a staged execution. After thus ruling the land, she also set about taking control of the sea, building a giant ship known as the Mobile Fortress Gradia to serve as her seat of power, as well as the skies, which she terrorizes riding a large dragon-like zeugle called Mesmald.
