More interestingly, she's also referred to in her profile as an Elemental, so we have another one of those for reference purposes.
Tengu are supposed to be a real big deal in Japan, capable of doing pretty potent stuff like shapeshifting, being able to grant various wishes and are basically calamities in their own right.
And apparently, Kiichi Hougen and the Kurama Tengu are supposed to be one in the same even in some of the stories based on Yoshitsune's exploits so it's not all that far fetched.
