Who would their Digimon Partner be?

Inspired by Youtube videos and Avant on FV asking for Partner Digimon for One Piece characters. Simply put, give Digimon partners to any character from any fiction of any media or genre you can think of. You may include an entire evolution line if you wish or simply the strongest form the character gets access to.

Rules
  1. Digimon partners tend to either reflect or contrast elements of their partners, therefore there MUST be some rhyme or reason to why that Digimon is that character's partner. In short, put a little thought into it, don't just mash random Digimon with random characters just because you like them. :maybe
  2. Let's say that the highest form a character can reach is based on their standing, relative to the rest of their verse. So basically low tiers would be stuck at Adult/Champion level, mid-tiers can get Perfect/Ultimate level, high tiers get Base Ultimate/Mega Digimon and Top Tiers can have Super Ultimates/basically anything.
  3. If you do include an Evolution line, it doesn't necessarily have to be a canon line (one of the benefits Digimon have on Pokemon is evolution being more fluid after all) but try and have the line make some sense in terms of what the end stage is.
  4. You may use Jogress/DNA evolved Digimon but they must still be the result of fusion between two character's partner Digimon. Given how the evolution functions, it goes without saying that the two characters must be ones who would get along/work together for this to be possible.
Welp that's all I have to say, have fun. :awesome

Cubey

The Formality
every main character obviously gets ulforceveedramon future mode as their final evolution :maybe

4. Hades (Hades)
• Partner Digimon: Cerberumon (Perfect/Ultimate)
• Reasoning: Cerberumon, a guardian of the Digital World’s Dark Area, directly reflects Hades’ role as the god of the dead and ruler of the Underworld in Greek mythology. Much like Hades, Cerberumon stands at the gates of a realm not easily traversed, embodying themes of death, protection, and the passage between worlds. • Evolution Line: Conomon -> Kokomon -> Lopmon -> Turuiemon -> Antylamon -> Cherubimon (Vice)
• Final Stage: Cherubimon (Vice), representing Alice’s descent into madness and her fight to reclaim her sanity and Wonderland itself. Cherubimon (Vice), being one of the Celestial Digimon but with a darker aspect, symbolizes the twisted version of Wonderland that Alice battles through. As a member of the Royal Knights, Craniamon represents the pinnacle of chivalry, justice, and defense—qualities that resonate with Percy’s character development and his dedication to protecting his family, friends, and the realm. WarGreymon’s status as a defender against evil aligns with Ryu’s role as a hero facing down the threats to his world, embodying his growth from a young boy into a powerful dragon warrior.

9. Kasumi (Dead or Alive/Ninja Gaiden)
• Partner Digimon: Sakuyamon (Ultimate/Mega)
• Reasoning: Sakuyamon, a Digimon with strong ties to Japanese mythology and a graceful, warrior-like appearance, mirrors Kasumi’s status as a kunoichi (female ninja) with a deep sense of honor, beauty, and strength. Sakuyamon’s abilities, which blend spiritual power with martial prowess, reflect Kasumi’s own fighting style that combines traditional shinobi techniques with her own unique skills. Additionally, Sakuyamon’s aesthetic, embodying both elegance and combat readiness, perfectly matches Kasumi’s character design and persona.
• Evolution Line: Poyomon -> Tokomon -> Renamon -> Kyubimon -> Taomon -> Sakuyamon -> Sakuyamon Miko Mode
• Final Stage: Sakuyamon Miko Mode, representing Kasumi’s ultimate form. This form of Sakuyamon, even more closely tied to the spiritual and the mystical, symbolizes Kasumi’s mastery of her ninja abilities and her evolution into a fighter who not only battles physical foes but also confronts her own inner struggles and the complexities of her past and destiny. Sakuyamon Miko Mode’s enhanced spiritual and combat capabilities make it a perfect parallel to Kasumi’s journey towards self-discovery and her fight for peace and justice.

• Partner Digimon: Patamon (Child/Rookie)
• Reasoning: Patamon, known for its gentle nature and potential for great power and transformation into angelic Digimon, mirrors the Hero of Oakvale’s journey from a humble beginning to becoming a legendary hero of good. Patamon’s evolution path, which leads to noble and divine forms, reflects the Hero’s commitment to righteousness, justice, and the protection of the innocent.
• Evolution Line: Poyomon -> Tokomon -> Patamon -> Angemon -> HolyAngemon (MagnaAngemon) -> Seraphimon
• Final Stage: Seraphimon, representing the pinnacle of the Hero of Oakvale’s benevolent power. As one of the highest-ranking angel Digimon, Seraphimon symbolizes the Hero’s ultimate achievement in safeguarding Albion, embodying the highest virtues of courage, mercy, and hope. This final form aligns with the Hero’s canonical goodness, showcasing their divine-like status in the world of Fable as a beacon of light and a paragon of heroism.

11. Hero of Bowerstone/Sparrow (Fable II)
• Partner Digimon: Hawkmon (Child/Rookie)

Like Hawkmon, Sparrow is quick, agile, and capable of adapting to various situations, reflecting the Hero’s journey through diverse challenges and moral decisions.

As a figure of justice and a guardian of the skies, Valkyrimon perfectly mirrors Sparrow’s rise to heroism, embodying their strength, leadership, and the legacy they create through their actions and choices throughout Fable II.

12. Scorpion/Hanzo Hasashi (Mortal Kombat)
• Partner Digimon: Guilmon (Child/Rookie)
• Reasoning: Guilmon, a Digimon born from a child’s drawing of a dinosaur, embodies the fierce and fiery nature that Scorpion possesses. Guilmon’s potential for intense combat and its evolution into more powerful, fire-wielding forms reflect Scorpion’s own journey as a ninja specter seeking vengeance and later redemption. The fiery attacks and the “Digital Hazard” symbol on Guilmon’s chest resonate with Scorpion’s iconic use of hellfire and his dangerous, yet honorable, quest for justice.
• Evolution Line: Jyarimon -> Gigimon -> Guilmon -> Growlmon -> WarGrowlmon -> Megidramon
• Final Stage: Megidramon, a dragon Digimon of immense power that wields destructive fire, symbolizes Scorpion’s ultimate form. Megidramon’s embodiment of wrath and chaos mirrors Scorpion’s darker aspects and his connection to the Netherrealm. However, just as Scorpion finds a path towards redemption and peace, Megidramon’s potential for devastation is counterbalanced by Guilmon’s inherent kindness and loyalty, reflecting Scorpion’s complex nature as a character torn between vengeance and redemption.

13. Xiahou Dun (Dynasty Warriors)
• Partner Digimon: Cyberdramon (Adult/Champion)
• Reasoning: Cyberdramon embodies the fierce loyalty and martial prowess that Xiahou Dun is known for. 7. 2B (NieR: Automata)
• Evolution Line: Kapurimon -> Hagurumon -> Andromon -> HiAndromon -> Craniummon
I'm assuming you're aware that you skipped Adult level there? :mjpls

Not that it's a problem I'm just wondering why you didn't include Guardromon or if you meant to and you just forgot to put him there?
9. Luke Skywalker (Star Wars Legends)
Evolution Line: Chibomon -> Veedramon -> AeroVeedramon -> UlforceVeedramon
Similarly here you skipped Baby II and Child, Chibimon and VMon work for this line as well.

1. Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End)
• Evolution Line: Poyomon -> Bukamon -> Sorcerimon -> Witchmon -> AncientMermaimon -> Valdurmon
Here you seem to have missed both Child and Perfect level (both Sorcerimon and Witchmon are Adult levels and AncientMermaimon and Valdurmon are both Ultimate levels). I could see this being a duality thing where she has alternate evolutions due to Frieren being both a protector and a brutal demon slayer but I'm curious what the Child and Perfect levels would be?

Bakumon seems to fit as a Child level but I'm not sure about a Perfect given who the Ultimates are. 🤔

Bakumon seems to fit as a Child level but I'm not sure about a Perfect given who the Ultimates are. 🤔
It was also to reflect Frieren’s magic spells since she can use many elements and have her Digimon have other options to Digivolve.

I'd say it time to throw my own hat in this ring.

Judai Yuki/Haou Judai (Supreme King)
Partner:
Gammamon/GulusGammamon
Reason: The line is largely named after stars so that matches the Neo-Spacians in space theme. Gammamon's heroic attitudematches regular Judai's and that of the Elemental Heroes that he likes so much. Meanwhile Gulus being the dark half and the original who occasionally takes over, has to eventually be confronted and merging with whom is the only way to truly reach the peak of their powers, completely mirrors Judai and Haou's story in GX.
Evolution Line: Curimon - Gurimon - Gammamon - BetelGammamon/GulusGammamon - Canoweissmon/Regulusmon - Siriusmon/Arcturusmon - Proximamon
Final Stage - Proximamon represents the two sides of Judai making peace with each other and coming together. A little bit of cheating on my part honestly given it's technically getting a Jogress evolution, but let's say that Judai achieves this by first using de-fusion to split the light and dark halves of both human and digimon, allowing for a confrontation before using super-polymerization to achieve the final form.

Yeah it's a canon Digimon line but frankly, you couldn't find a Digimon whose a better fit for Judai unless you made one up yourself. :maybe

Gonna do the three HST leads.

Monkey D Luffy
Partner:
Shoutmon
Reason: Fairly self-explanatory, they're both hot-blooded, cheery and enthusiastic. They will both NEVER give up as long as their passion burns hot, both seek to be "kings" and gather a group of like-minded individuals under them to go against a tyrannical dictatorship.
Evolution Line: Jyarimon - Gigimon - Shoutmon - Shoutmon (King Version) - OmegaShoutmon
Final Stage: The transition between Shoutmon and the King Version represents the time-skip and Luffy essentially mastering Haki while OmegaShoutmon represents Luffy's awakening and subsequent Gear 5 transformation.

I would have liked to find a Perfect form but short of having the rest of the crew get the rest of Xros Heart and using X3, X4 or X5 which would represent the different Gears that Luffy has, there really isn't an option and I'd want to tackle the rest of the crew on an individual level, rather than their Digimon only existing to make Luffy's stronger.

Naruto Uzumaki
Partner:
Guilmon
Reason: The Digital Hazard within Guilmon is reminiscent of the Kyuubi being trapped within Naruto and both being seen as a potential threat over something they have no control over, yet despite this they both fight good to the point where they eventually become heroes to their world.
Evolution Line: Jyarimon - Gigimon - Guilmon - Growmon - MegaloGrowmon - Dukemon/Megidramon - Dukemon Crimson Mode
Final Stage: Megidramon represents the worst case scenario of the Kyuubi breaking out and wreaking havoc, while Dukemon represents Naruto keeping it contained. Crimson Mode obviously represents the moment host and captive make peace with each other and are able to bring their full power to bear.

Ichigo Kurosaki
Partner:
Gabumon/Dracmon
Reason: Being that he is someone possessed of two diametrically opposing powers, I've decided to give Ichigo two completely different respresenting his Soul Reaper and Quincy powers respectively. A fair few of these forms are wolf-based and/or speedsters which fits Ichigo nicely and one line is more close combat oriented while the other is ranged oriented.
Evolution Line: Punimon - Tsunomon - Gabumon/Dracmon - Garurumon/Sangloupmon - WereGarurumon/Astamon - CresGarurumon/Beelezebumon - Beelzebumon Blast Mode
Final Stage: The reason the Dark Evolution line is the one that gets an extra form is to be symbolic of Ichigo realizing what his Hollow really was and no longer rejecting him, coming to terms and allowing Beelzebumon to attain its full power.

Ichigo was hard because I'd already used Gammamon and Guilmon who would have been obvious fits (though for Ichigo I would have used ChaosDukemon in place of Megidramon) and I was just kind of browsing dark Digimon until I came across Sangloupmon and started looking around and that led me to what you see above. :maybe

Me Picking CresGarurumon for Ichigo's Light Ultimate largely because he has a sword.

Actually reads the profile later.
A final form of Garurumon, it is a subspecies of Metal Garurumon which has become humanoid, unlike Z'd Garurumon, a fellow final form. It is clad in armor made of Gold Digizoid, which deflects attacks, and specializes in swordplay wielding the "Kijū Engetsutou" as its weapon.
Engetsuto huh? that's a similar name to his father's sword, cool little coincidence.
It unleashes its "Jūrou Daikaiten", where it spins its entire body and attacks the opponent while turning into a blade, as well as "Geki: Hyougetsuga", in which it molds the Kijū Engetsutou into countless forms using ice, and then hurls it at the opponent, as its techniques.
It's attack is Geki: HyouGETSUGA? :pepetrified

I swear to God I didn't notice that when I picked it, even his fucking Digimon has Getsuga for an attack. :heston

More Bleach character lines.

Orihime Inoue
Partner:
Wormmon
Reason: Wormmon was the partner of the child of kindness in the show and is generally a sweetheart so he matches her in that sense. Where he differs is that, particularly when he evolves he's willing to fight and kill those that threaten the people he cares about (hell Stingmon's techniques are designed to be one-hit kills). He would be the proverbial sword to Orihime's shield, like Tsubaki but not reliant on her will to succeed in an attack.
Evolution Line: Leafmon - Minomon - Wormmon - Stingmon - Jewelbeemon - Bloomlordmon
Final Stage: I was going to go for BanchoStingmon because it's cooler but it's prideful personality doesn't fit Orihime, Bloomlordmon being a kind hearted but still cool as fuck Fairy Digimon that dispels bad weather anywhere he goes is a much closer match to Orihime.

Yasutora "Chad" Sado
Partner:
Bearmon
Reason: It's a cute Digimon (Chad likes cute things remember) who evolves into the Leomon line, that go out of their way to help others and largely fight with their fists (I mean two of them have swords but their best attacks are still punches). Just kind of a no-brainer on this one.
Evolution Line: Botamon - Wanyamon - Bearmon - Leomon - GrapLeomon - BanchoLeomon
Final Stage: Chad hasn't quite done enough to put him on the level where I can allow him to get BanchoLeomon Burst Mode but still, regular Bancho is a great fit, strong good Digimon with mad drip who punches his enemies into submission. :gar

Rukia Kuchiki
Partner:
Lunamon
Reason: The entire line is moon themed, with many of them using water/ice attacks and some of them have dance based attacks as well. The more animistic ones are all rabbit like to go with Rukia's love of Bunnies. The final stage is also a member of the Olympus XII to go with Rukia being a Captain of the Gotei 13 by the end.
Evolution Line: YukimiBotamon - Moonmon - Lunamon - Lekismon - Crescemon - Dianamon
Final Stage: Beyond what I've already said about it, Dianamon presides over water and ice and can fight even in Absolute Zero so these two would just work really well together. Imagine you're lucky enough to avoid her Bankai burst...only to get tagged by Dianamon's arrows or snuck up on and cut to ribbons because she gives no fucks about the absolute zero. :datass
