X-Men (1963) Respect Thread

I will be covering the original run of the X-Men here.

Starting with vol 1:

Spoiler

Magneto is called earth's most powerful villain

Xavier communicates with his students telepathically accross the mansion

His students pull off a bunch of stunts

Cyclops almost punts Beast through a wall, and breaks Iceman's defensive cube

Jean negs Beast, both physically and romantically

Magneto tampers with a spaceship after it has left the earth, miles away from the launching site. He also controls some turrets and a tank. After amping his magnetism, he launches a missiles hundreds of yards away. He also makes some soldiers unable to shoot their guns, also making them weigh more.

Magneto's got a magnetic barrier that repels attacks. He also traps a bunch of soldiers together.

Nothing on this army's arsenal can get through Magneto's magnetic shield, not even a tank.

Cyclops gets through the barrier with a full power blast, staggering Magneto, although he admits he was unprepared for this kind of power

Angel, Iceman and Beast easily dodge/intercept some guided missiles

Iceman's barrier tanks a rocket fuel explosion

Cyclops plows through the ground to make a tunnel. Together, the X-Men manage to breach Magneto's barrier again, but by the time they finish, Magneto has already flown away. Xavier communicates with the X-Men from the base.

Vol 2:

Spoiler

The X-Men have more or less comparable movement speed

Jean being kind of an ass. Also, Cyclops busts a big brick wall

Again, similar speeds between the X-Men, this time between Cyclops and Iceman

Xavier can do powerpoint presentations with his mind

The Vanisher can teleport

Jean easily deflects Iceman's ice pellets. Also, Angel dodges some missiles

More TP feats from the Vanisher

Jean lifts a huge ball, which Cyclops later sends hurling away with a blast

Xavier contacts an agent located in Washington D.C

The X-Men fight the Vanisher, but are ultimately unable to catch him

The Vanisher's tp is almost too fast to be seen in a camera 20,000 frames a second

Xavier mindfucks the Vanisher, making him incapable of remembering who he even is

Iceman blocks some machine gun fire, and Cyclops instantly caves a giant hole in the ground

Angel likely dodges some fire as well

Vol 3:

Spoiler

Cyclops has improved his reactions by 3%

Cyclops is likely the most powerful X-Men, according to Xavier

Jean pulls off some tricks, while Xavier watches over the countryside, detecting a mutant

Blob is bulletproof

Blob tanks an optic blast. He also breaks some chains

Again, Blob tanking some shit

Angel dodges some bullets. Also, the intensifier would allow Xavier to wipe off the memory of an entire crowd.

Cyclops blasts some peeps with a cannon

Beast dodges some bullets and casually beats a gorilla. Also, Cyclops blasts an elephant several meters through the ground

Cyclops blasts a hole in the ground

The circus dudes are unable to get through Iceman's wall

Cyclops blasts another hole in the ground. Also, Angel dodges another shot.

Xavier probes everyone's memories

Vol 4:

Spoiler

Beast throws everything thrown at him, including what appears to be an arrow

Beast throws a 75 lbs weight at Iceman, who deflects in in a micro-second

Mastermind makes Toad appear as if he was a pig with his illusions. He also takes a punch from super-speed Quicksilver

Magneto perfectly controls a ship with his magnetism

Xavier and Magneto astrally project themselves on the stratosphere. Also, they are called the two most powerful mutants by the narrator

Mastermind creates an illusion of an entire army

Beast digs some holes in a brick wall and throws some stones at Toad. However, he's caught by the Mastermind's illusion. Also, Angel dodges some machine gun fire. Quicksilver is a lot faster still

Scarlet Witch defeats Angel with her hex. Also, Magneto dodges an optic blast which blasted through some concrete

Magneto dodges another blast, while Quicksilver blitzes Cyclops. The later breaks through some concrete, hitting a generator. Everyone dodges said generator's current, and Cyclops manages to send it away by blasting through a big wall

Mastermind creates an illusion of a fire. Xavier states the brotherhood's men are as powerful as the X-Men. Magneto's nuke can destroy the entirety of Santo Marco.

Xavier tanks a bomb

Cyclops is unable to catch Quicksilver

Vol 5:

Spoiler

Cyclops goes through Beast's Danger Room training

Magneto can fly planes with magnetic energy

Which flies to Asteroid M in minutes

Toad easily outguns every other athlete in the race

Magneto wrecks a clock in seconds, which he throws as a projectile at Angel, which the later dodges

However, he's ultimately trapped anyways. Also, Mastermind creates an illusion of fog

Quicksilver dodges all of Cyclops' attacks. Also, Mastermind fools a whole crowd with an illusion of a rhino

Magneto's capsule reaches Asteroid M in a single panel

Beast dodges a pistol shot. Also, Magneto can control every part of Asteroid M with an amplifier

Wanda short circuits the machine with her hex

Wanda believes her and Pietro are no match for Magneto. Also, Cyclops blasts through a steel door and manages to catch Pietro. Beast can also break unbreakable glass with a few hits

Jean breaks said glass in a single hit by throwing a chemical tank at it. Also, everyone dodges Magneto's dart grenade

Iceman creates a bridge between the Asteroid chunks

Mags' capsule again reaches the earth in a single panel. This also show he can control it all the way from the Asteroid

Vol 6:

Spoiler

Mastermind dodges Magneto's ray. Ditto for Quicksilver who does it in a split-second

Magneto's mind powers are apparently second only to Xavier? Also, he sends an astral projection to talk with Namor, guiding himself with his mutant brain, ditto for Xavier

Namor hurls a giant statue in the air

Magneto lifts a freighter with his powers

Namor ducks some electricity and tanks grabbing a wire with his bare hands. Angel also attacks the group in a split-second

Angel dodges Mags' missile-like magnetized boulders. Namor then catches him and throws him away like a bullet. However, Beast catches him. Magneto then destroys the X-Men's ship in seconds with a magnet's ray

Xavier inmediately catches on on Mastermind's illusion. Also, Quicksilver attacks Cyclops in the space of a single heartbeat. However, the later counterattacks, trying to tire him out by making him dodge his blasts

Jean catches Quicksilver and lifts him from the ground with TK

Namor can't break off from Magneto's magnetized metal. Also, Mastermind creates an illusion of fog. Cyclops also busts a wall

Beast is much faster and agile than Namor

Cyclops holds Namor back with a non-full power blast

Magneto's amplified ray is more powerful than anything Namor has felt before

Namor shakes the island, toppling the giant magnet

Readthrough wise i already did lol, i'm just slower when it comes to actually posting the scans

Most interestingly he's portrayed as above Magneto and possibly a holding back Stranger, and Cyttorak is called the strongest Demon or something among those lines

Also, i find it interesting how here Magneto seems to actually have some degree of psychic powers like astral projection, as well as Xavier having stuff like psychic shields

I wonder, in issue 6, Namor calls Magneto's amped ray the most powerful thing he's ever felt. What would serve as scaling fodder up to this point? According to the same issue he has met Hulk, the Avengers and the F4 before @Endless Mike

Eh, I don't put a lot of stock in statements like that, since there's a lot of hyperbole and inconsistency about them.
