As you can see from the vast amounts of people in "don't know" I have a lot of series to catch up on and for @Adamant soul and @Masterblack06 in particular I consider B and up good, Ichigo when he is not being boring like he later was but more like his early self is what I count here, so if you think I have the two protags you have been posting and hyping up about lately as too low it's mostly because I only really have the scans you guys post about all the time to go off on and while I like what I see I feel I need to read their series in full to make a full on assessment. C is mostly for those I consider either overrated or have only seen their series years ago and can't make a right call but I don't think are bad. D and F are just plain overrated, boring, or bad, don't need to explain the others.
Man I'm not even angry you put Touma in trash, I'm just surprised, cause I really thought nobody here actually consumed any toaru media other than cross, nihilus, and lokoxDZz and the other obv posters.

You're right.
He hasn't :mjlol

Everything I seen and heard told me enough.

For me, I give ups on what Touma can do and does but my main issue with Touma is it feels like the author tries to give him too much to make up for the little he has.
It's like giving a glaring weakpoints then overdo on the strength points because you then think the weaknesses are too much. It doesn't help that we never get a sense of the REAL Touma... ever which means we are just seeing facisimiles of someone else and not the actual person.

Not really? I mean, what is the real Touma? We only know the "real Touma" in a single volume and some sidestories. I feel like that kind of thinking damages post-amnesia Touma's character by thinking of him simply as some part of the real Touma and not his own being. Especially when he gets his own characterization and reasons to fight.

Also tbh your issue just feels like a powerscaling one, It may be hypocritical for me to say this since I literally powerscale toaru. But tbh in the story itself I don't really care how powerful Touma or his enemies gets.

That's not why I read To Aru, I got hooked in simply because I liked Touma deciding he was going to save a random girl because he couldn't look over the injustice of what's happening to her even if he has to sacrifice himself.

As long as his characterization is consistent, story is ...good for a lack of a better term, and the mysteries stay interesting.

Your nigga ain't a real nigga and is just pretending and the author overdoes it on what Imagine Breaker can actually do to make up for it be limited to Touma's arm.
And you're basing this off of... what exactly?

What exactly does IB do besides negate the supernatural?

Difference is, I've read both series.

Get off the bandwagon hivemind shit for once and think for yourself.

The ironic part is that I'm certain he isn't bandwagoning...
Hell, I was legit on my issues on Touma and also legit in praising his good points:
- He don't give a fuck and will haymaker anyone who deserves it
- He's pretty skeevy in terms of his thought patterns
- He actually uses his powers very well.

It's just that when we never seen the real Touma... yeah, I can't connect with someone like that.
Shirou is a hollow fuck but he actually overplays how forgetful he is and we see how fucked up he is as a person and as an individual and I just don't get that from Touma.

Clearly you have not, if you think your bland shithead of a protag who was revealed to be a selfish asshat is on par with a guy who went through some of the most traumatic shit a person can deal with, mentally powered himself out of it, accepted his actions did nothing but makes things worse for him and the people he loves, and grew more as a character and finding his purpose in life.

I just love how easily you get pissy over anything that does not suck off your trash tier MC. I don't even have to tell you to hop like a good dog, you just do it the moment I come out on the porch. :trinny
