You are the main character, but seriously, this is a God Emperor thing. I would say the Lord Captain was God Emperor tier if not for the fact he had an entire party backing him. Though that is optional. You can solo this motherfucker if you want.
The only stipulation is that you also had access to the prison that held it, but it was set free. The fight is you basically forcing it back inside said prison. Through brute force and violence, and after weakening it enough, you force it back inside. At which point you can enslave it or have Nomos fuse with it. That, or just murder it outright after you have weakened it.
Though the whole process of weakening it through ultra violence happens only after it is set loose. So, it wasn't weakened at that point and it was your job to murder fuck it so hard that you can throw back inside said prison. After which you get your options on how to remedy the situation once and for all.
They don't give you the option to be an Astartes or a Custode or a Sister of Silence, and you can still do completely insane things like this. The only vaguely significantly supernatural thing about you is that maybe you're a psyker, and that is optional and depends on you picking that option as your origin. You start off with a psyker rating of 0. Lowest possible.
Psyker bit totally unnecessary. You can still win. This makes that one Tau Firewarrior murdering a Greater Demon of Tzeentch look tame by comparison. In fact, one of the first things you do is resist possession by a Greater Demon of Tzeentch. At like the beginning of the campaign. Which is ridiculous. The character creator was set up to make it seem you would just be another face in the crowd, but you are literally HIM throughout.
