Both Wodime and Daybit recognize Gudao as a mage and as a master. Wodime even state Gudao is stronger than him. Gudao is pretty much one of the strongest Fate-related protag right now. Multiple Servants have noted how effective Gudao is as a master, he also fought several Servants with just Shadow Servant in Shimousa (at least in manga). He join the war in Traum and fight with only his Shadow Servant to fight other Servant since his other Servants are expected elsewhere. And Gudao presumably can summon Shadow Servant by himself without Chaldea's support since it is stated to takes a lot of mana and he summons it during Se.Ra.Ph.

This is not just SB problem, a lot of people are downplaying Gudao. I've seen people really argue Gudao lose no diff to Mahito in Discord, and they also argue he is the worst master...Despite the F/GO plot pretty much both shows and tell the plot won't work if Gudao is not so good at doing what is doing, being a Master. All because Gudao doesn't have A-tier mage skill nor super big mana battery.

Point is, people are bias against Gudao for who knows fuck what.

Right now Ritsuka is the best master in the franchise , not even the overrrated Hakuno come closer to Ritsuka's achivements
