OBD Convo #58: We are the Heroes of Justice

True, but using people in real life as the benchmark for fictional characters only really makes sense for fiction that tries to be as realistic as possible. Neither franchise really falls under hard science-fiction or anything like that, and by that metric it is not us we should be comparing them to but their contemporaries in the same genres.

Mark Grayson versus say for example Superboy.

Shinji Ikari versus say any iteration of Raven in Armored Core. Not 621, though. Cause the guy is built different and makes the trauma Shinji went through look like a joke, and he only became a complete ace on the battlefield as a result, despite being a brain in a jar for all intents and purposes.
Not really my perspective, doubly so when its often the unspoken judgment of many that sack these comparatively more fragile fictional characters?

"I could and would do better, I would respond differently, that's why I'm judging their behavior"

I'm going to compare them to real life, because the comparison to real life is already implied by their message. I have no patience for that kind of voice, ergo my point of view.

Fucking incompetent jackasses, the very least any bank or car service should give you is a way to shut off your card's functions in the case of theft. I am sorry you have to deal with this dude, hopefully you don't lose any money used without your consent or get it back and the scum who stole it gets found.
Actually PayPal said that they will get our investigation resolved in "10 Business Days" or by the 28th. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

In the meantime, I also unwittingly "permanently" deleted an entire folder of pics I imported and stored on my mom's desktop computer (albeit one used as a dumping ground for personal pics I took) for several years since April/May 2022 after I got into a fight with my mum forcing me delete that shit after she tried to looked into them and delete all those pics herself just to stop our argument from escalating (turns out she only wanted to deleted some of them from that one folder when I thought she wanted me to delete the whole thing).

And as of last midnight, I already downloaded multiple data recovery software like Recuva to try and retrieve at least most if not all of those and while the software was able to successfully scan and locate the whole folder that I permanently deleted (with over 170,000 pics inside), the only thing standing between me and fully recovering up to at least 99% of them is whether my mom or pop are completely willing to agree with purchasing the software online with a one-time fee over just over $60 after I tried and explained to them how it's also useful for them if my mom accidentally "permanently" deletes or loses some of her important documents or files while working too. And I hear the longer and longer I wait, the less chance I will have of recovering (all of) them successfully will be if the computers "write" those files or overwrite them.

What happened?
Smash community banned a player named Hax for nearly a decade all while smearing him during that time. A few months back the dude tried to take his own life by jumping in front of a train and lost his leg, and just now he actually did it.

And you're card is still not cut off to insure the thief is not using it?
The card that thief was using wasn't showing up on our account's end from what the person we called on PayPal and Apple for customer service saw, since we never applied for it in the first place.

So we're still in the dark here on where to track it down and how to cancel it.

^ I like how Mitt Romney is the only candidate in this video without his own campaign music.

Except for CNN's "Election Night Theme" music:
