Death Battle Discussion

The Abyss (Pathfinder and D&D)
vs
Hell (Doom verse)

I wanna know which army is gonna win and why? lol. Or is this only Deathbattle, literally? Some websites use Deathbattle to refer to anything vs related.

Anyways Jonathan more likely winning
Why?

Tbh I think the Jonathan side just hasn't really seen all of Tanjiro's feats, what he scales to, all his abilities etc...

Like someone just brought up a few posts ago that EOS Tanjiro has combat precog. Pretty sure Jonathan doesn't really have any direct counter to that.

M8 I hang out with folks who talk to the researchers n shit
And most you get with Tanjiro is City Block-MCB
Jonathan can get the into same range and if you forgot the Dio vs Alucard episode Jonathan unironically has arguments scailing to part 3 Dio Pre High

Does he scale to Dio? I don't think he ever managed to physically match or overpower him in Part 1, they were playing high-speed rock-paper-scissors with hamon and Dio's freezing ability.

Ok? And that's on par (or above with MCB) Tarkus's feat that Jonathan scales to.

That scaling would be about as valid as DB taking multipliers for Tanjiro's powerups literally and factoring them into calcs (like how he said he was drawing out 100x more power when he used his demon mark against Gyutaro) IMO. And DB has actually done stuff like that before. So who knows? :maybe

But honestly I would like to discuss skill/techniques/abilities as I think that's the more interesting part of a fight to go into than raw stats. Like perhaps I would give Jonathan a point in his favor for metal silver overdrive (showing he can channel his hamon through an opponent's sword to harm them) except grabbing the sword to begin with wouldn't be as easy with Tanjiro as it was with Bruford.

He cut off his arm back in part 1
And Dio used his Jonathan Body in part 3 to deflect emerald splash

In this case it really wouldn't matter all that much given the shit you can argue Jonathan so it's moot
Regardless neither will be above each other to a massive degree in DC come the fight

It mainly gonna boil down to that anyways

I can't recall if DB's ever addressed it but you don't have to actually be physically stronger than someone to cut them or even cut one of their limbs off. The surface area of the sharp edge and tip of the sword is what makes that possible.

To give an example Raiden from MGR was clearly physically weaker than Armstrong. Even his normal molecular slicing HF blade got snapped like a twig. But as soon as he got Sam's sharper HF Muramasa he became able to actually damage Armstrong and ultimately kill him
And Dio used his Jonathan Body in part 3 to deflect emerald splash
A body that had since been amped by Dio's vampire blood running through it. He certainly wasn't just a vampire head on a human body by the time the last section of part 3 began as he had taken plenty of time to get himself acclimated to his new body (even if it wasn't fully perfected until he drank Joseph's blood).

Sure.

Yeah. And I personally would say Tanjiro's got a lot more to work with in that apartment. It's fine if you disagree I just was seeing a lot of people in this thread treat this match like a foregone conclusion in Jonathan's favor or as if it would be a big upset if Tanjiro won which I don't really think it would be.

except Jon boy has shown multiple times of Hurting him and outright bisect him

it was still his body and not to mention it was fighting against Dio during the course of Part 3 so the amp much of a boost

i mean it ain't a stomp i posted a blog that practically said its close

They did
Don't expect them to scale Jonathan to it cause Swan outright said nobody scale to it
How would he not scale to it? It’s a standard attack (not like a big final move like Vegeta’s final explosion or Netero’s nuke heart) and Jonathan was his equal plus they just ended up scaling Dio to Jolyne’s meteor feat that they also had at city level anyway so its not like it would be inconsistent. I don’t trust the consistency of their verdicts either way.

Jonathan got pierced by it anytime it hit him and even killed him in the story

They had Joyne meteor at Town level (proper math probably has it higher but whatever ) not city which why the Ripper eyes being in the megatons was a big deal

Because of inverse-square law and surface area he should still very well get scaling to it’s dc
I mean In This case not really it be something if it was shown to be tanked and such but in the story it has been displayed to rekt Jon Boy any time it came into contact with him
