One the topic of HP speed, I'm fairly sure this is the best calced feat we have:

I don't know if this feat has been calc'ed yet, I haven't seen one and there is no mention of it in his profile. Please let me know if it's already done. It's worse considering looking at it, the books say he didn't even fly the entire way, just enough to get out of the Anti-Apparation field and then Apparated to the Malfoy Manor after that.
The second calc is for Voldemort flying from Nurmengard to the Channel, the Apparation part isn't relevant to it.
I don't have the books at hand, but from what's discussed in the calc thread the problem isn't an anti disapparation jinx blocking Voldemort, but the distance being too great for apparation, hence him flying most of the way.

I mean I think The Dresden Files is a legitimately great series (way fucking better than Harry Potter and certain other massively overrated fantasy series that were adapted into TV series but that's another discussion) but I still wouldn't argue it's on par with Lord of the Rings.

There's a reason why Ender's Game sticks more to my mind than any Harry Potter book. Really goes to show that Harry Potter is as deep as a puddle when I can only remember fragments when with Ender's Game, I can virtually remember even the little details... or that Ender will fucking END YOU in a fight.
I remember actually choosing to read that on my own for my English class and was surprised just how much I enjoyed it and felt it really hit me with its attempts to be deep unlike whatever I saw with most of HP's or other YA "writers".
Yep, like I said, that shit will get you fucking deep and it's honestly surprising at how engaging it is. Orson is a man of his time and the book fucking let's you know it.
