Watching WWE post-Mania stuff to get caught up in time for Backlash. It's good stuff, not much going on storyline wise (aside from Drew vs injured Punk, Injured Rhea vs Liv, Sami vs Chad and Solo Bloodline stuff) for obvious reasons but it might as well be Shakespearean compared to when I was last watching and we are just post-Mania so makes sense. Might go back and watch the Royal Rumble - Mania 40 period later once I'm actually caught up.

It's really not as weird as it sounds in context. Remember Yu-Gi-Oh! already established that all the monsters really exist and there were always demons, vampires etc as monsters so an actual vampire turning up really isn't that strange. As for "space Hitler" that's the Supreme King/Haou whom Judai is the reincarnation of (just like Yugi was the reincarnation of Atem), that's why Judai has the powers of darkness in the first place. Haou was awakened when Judai's friends were seemingly killed in front of him and, to prevent something like that from happening again, he commited genocides against the duel spirit inhabitants of that dimension, in order to use their energy to create Super Polymerization. Obviously Haou went way overboard and it's a constant source of guilt for our boy going forward, which is largely the reason the last duel is about Yugi/Atem trying to help Judai restore his love of the game and dueling for dueling's sake and why it doesn't matter who won. That's what you get when you ask for "remakes" of games from people who obviously don't understand what made the original so beloved in the first place and who have actively tried to change their whole series to appeal to/appease westerners. :maybe The fact people are still asking for remakes of other FF games after these disasters, is baffling to me.

Glorious Burst and Positron Laser are the same attack names they have in Japanese and Terra Force/Gaia Force are pretty much interchangeable. FINAL ELYSIAN > SHIELD OF THE JUST :amazing Attack and Digimon names tend to favor Japanese more often than not IMO. There are definitely SOME instances where the dub is better but not many.

I don't mind Guilmon's voice and her performance as Dukemon makes up for it where she just goes full Goku with it. Voice suits Dukemon more than it ever did Goku. They're okay, they're definitely good performances in the dubs and occasionally the gags actually get a laugh but other changes are just outright stupid like making a joke of Apocalymon. No question that sub is better as far as Digimon is concerned.

Well TBF that is kind of the point of Dukemon as a Royal Knight, showing that Virus Types can still be heroes, which is fine IMO. It's the same kind of contradicting thing as Beelzebumon being a demon lord yet he's become the redeemed hero in two separate series. But yeah, this was stupid.

Ah I see, I getcha. I was just saying I understood how someone could forget Megidramon, I do LIKE the design. It's a cool digimon, it just needs to actually get to do something one of these days other than show up and look scary. Meanwhile Medievil Dukemon is literally just Dukemon with darker colors and yet somehow probably has way more shot of ever actually doing something, just because it looks like a Royal Knight.

At least SkullGreymon has had more than ONE appearance, which is more than most of them can say. Of course then GulusGammamon happened and made them all look like a fucking joke. :amazing

For as good a design as it is, it really doesn't get to do much and is completely overshadowed by Dukemon so I can believe that. The only dark evolution more forgettable is Shinegreymon Ruin Mode. :kobeha

Can we just remember that Guilmon is already a Virus Digimon that teeters on the edge of going full nuclear of the digital world? He doesn't fucking need a dark version and Megidramon and Medievil Dukemon pretty much already are that. Newsflash Digimon guys, the reason BlackWarGreymon worked so well is because his character was so damn good, not because palette swaps of shit are acceptable outside of very rare instances like with Cherubimon Vice where it's a corrupted form. Wouldn't even be so bad if the line looked good but they don't, they're just worse versions of the Guilmon forms they're based on.

Instead of doing Impmon as a dark version of Guilmon, why not go the other and give Impmon a light version of his line? Anything would have been better than this, yes INCLUDING Shoutmon X4B, at least then he got a top tier theme to go with it.
