Almost the entire list is compiled of new faces whose series started no more than a decade ago. Than you got Misaka hitting 12th place whose from a series that began back in 2004. Really shows the staying power and relevance of the Toaru series to this day. The only girls on there from older works are from Shounen manga staples like One Piece and Gintama. Misaka also holds the record for winning more popularity polls than any other light novel character in history and by a mile. Toradora is nearly as old as Toaru and nice to see Taiga still has her fans to make it to 36. Sucks to be Shiki too. A vicious double whammy with the next chapter of EZ. For his future self, losing Rebecca and having his mind dumped into a machine since his body was dying. Being made into a machine leaves him slowly losing his memories of being human, and by the time he finds out Rebecca’s corpse is being used for research, he can’t even recall who she is. And for current Shiki, the fact that he’s Ziggy now means he’s responsible for killing his own mother figure Witch. As if Aoi Cosmos arc wasn’t traumatizing enough

He’s like, the exact opposite of Goku in almost every way. He’s not obsessed with fighting like his dad and if it wasn’t for constant threats, he’d be content living a normal life with his family and scholarly pursuits even at the expense of his fighting potential being wasted. His transformations are also completely different since while Goku uses endless Super Saiyan variants w/ God Ki and Ultra Instinct, Gohan phased out of Super Saiyan forms in favor of his Ultimate Gohan state and now Gohan Beast and he uses a combination of Goku and Piccolo’s techniques which is only natural given he learned from them.

I mean, does it really matter if Gohan develops his own mundane way of firing the Ki Blasts everyone else does in the end?
