There's also the fact that for a lot of older, classic games, legally buying them is either infeasible or impractical. Thankfully sites like MyAbandonware exist because the games I grew up with are 100% more fun than any of the stuff we're getting now. Seeing these posts about Shenmue reminds me that it was originally going to be a Virtua Fighter spinoff entirely about Akira. Hence why Ryo looks similar to Akira in the beta footage. And also the two sharing the same scar. Though I'm glad we got Shenmue as it is (and it really was the better option) it would've been interesting to see what a Virtua Fighter RPG would look like. Especially since during the mid-to-late 2000s there was a trend to put adventure modes in fighting games/make action adventure spinoffs of said fighting games. Which is SF6 is anything to go by, might be returning?

Been watching a friend of mine play through the remaster and there's an unbelievable amount of passion put into it. Completely redone (but still faithful) visuals, options for modern/twin stick controls, shit there's even a menu with the entire soundtrack and a model viewer to let you see all the redone models. Legit this seems like the definitive way to play the game.
