Unfortunate news, hoping the best for them. Death Battle is a staple of this niche space of internet versus debating we occupy, it managed to transcend the sphere and reach a casual audience. Watching the evolution from it being universally mocked on the forums to slowly gaining more and more respect with banger animations and actual thought out research has been a treat these past years. If this ends at S10 with their most requested match-up as their final battle then that's a hell of a way to go out, but it's a pity to have the rug pulled out from under them coming off that momentum.

How would the Scarecrow vs Mysterio match even work? To my knowledge, Scarecrow's fear toxin needs to be inhaled to take effect, and Mysterio's fishbowl helmet should shut that down. That should make it a stomp unless he gets the jump on Mysterio before he puts his costume on. Unless you mean Rey Mysterio, in which case he's survived being thrown off the roof of a skyscraper and regenerated his eyeball after his match with Rollins, so I'm not sure Scarecrow can keep him down before he finishes it with the 619. Bulleye vs Deadshot would be a Daredevil vs Batman match-up, which I think we've only had one of so far.

The first to come to mind was Dracula vs Ganondorf "You're right, you're not a man, you're a pig... let me hear you squeal." A cold line in general, but also cathartic since I was salty about the argument they used to give Ganon the win over Bowser a few seasons back.

I kind of liked the way they handled it, honestly. It did make it less of a surprise, but it also teased and raised anticipation that it would finally be coming. Having both Silver Surfer and Megatron was kind of wetting the appetite and saying "You thought these two were crazy, just wait!" , or at least those are the vibes I got from that. When Goku vs Superman 3 kind of sealed it. Frankly, the only episodes I could see being big enough to follow-up and take the main event slot from GvS would be either Galactus vs Unicron or Wiz vs Boomstick.

My boy Clark got the three-peat. I had a strong feeling they were setting up for Galactus vs Unicron this season, so I'm pretty hyped to see that closing it out.

I'm all for Toriko getting representation in a Death Battle, but RIP to Blackbeard if he ever has to step up to Midora.

The most interesting part to me is that this isn't even the finale. Which would suggest for however big they plan to go making the final conclusion to the Goku vs Superman saga, that they still felt whatever follows it up would be the even bigger match-up to close out the season. There are very few match-ups I figure would be deemed big enough to Main Event over Goku vs Superman. Galactus vs Unicron would be one of the few to fit that bill, but if that's not it then I'm very intrigued for what they have in store.

I assume for them to even consider revisiting this match-up, they must have had a lot of ideas for what they could do with the fight, and that we'll at least get a banger animation out of it. They know the controversy and know that this episode will have to be good enough to both serve as redemption for the second installment and satisfy the bulk of their audience who didn't want to see round 3. I'm hopeful that it will leave me pleasantly surprised.

If Superman beats Goku down for a third time it basically feels like bullying since it's basically kicking them while they are down and nobody was asking to see the rerun. Though if Goku ends up beating Superman that has potential to be the most nuclear meltdown they've generated because suddenly all of the downtrodden Goku fans will become emboldened and the Superman fandom enraged. Especially those who have cited their previous videos as evidence now being told by DB themselves that that those are outdated and inaccurate.

Megamind/Gru vs Tom/Coyote could go either way. I'm hoping for the latter personally, I have a lot nostalgia for both Tom & Jerry and Roadrunner & Coyote. I could see Megamind vs Gru having great animation potential, but I've never fully watched an Illumination movie because the bits I've seen have mostly annoyed me.

When did they get confirmed? Asura vs Kratos and Godzilla vs Hulk were both part of that tournament the last I checked.
