I think the problem is more how the joke is used than the joke itself. Compared to how it is said there it is quick and to the point and does not break the tension to make sure the audience laughs unlike what the MCU does all the damn time.

I will say that Scott has not made a lot of good films in his later years and stuff I heard about the retcons he made to the Alien lore is making him what people wish Lucas was to SW with how bad it is but I'll still agree with him that MCU movies have gone stale for a long while.
