Characters you want to see get absolutely fucking humbled

I'm dying for that trash ass arc to end, already. Toyo and lazy Toriyama fumbled the bag hard as shit with Moro, and did so equally as hard with this arc, which has been feeling like a horrid slog for the last number of chapters.:wow

Jiren was trash too, but for the memes he created, as well as some decent fighting during the TOP, he's easily superior to anything coming out of the last two canon fanfic manga arcs. No debate.:yousmart

I wouldn’t call Toriyama lazy. Guy’s got more than enough money to just do nothing yet makes more DB content regardless of the quality.

The DBS manga largely sucks. Manga version of Goku Black arc was overall weaker than the anime and Tournament of Power DEFINITELY sucked compared to the anime.

And these all new arcs fail to deliver. Some interesting ideas at the start before quickly becoming stale. It was the case with Moro and now this current one. The fact that it’s just Goku and to a lesser extent Vegeta doing anything now also annoys me

At least DBS Super Hero was dope.
 
OH. Gilgamesh definitely needs to get humbled something fierce. I want to see him try everything in his arsenal just to get packed up like a fucking lunchbox

also 90% of To Aru has niggas acting way to fucking cocky for their own good. Half the verse needs to get humbled something fierce
 
Gil’s deaths in UBW and HF were more than well-deserved enough. Maybe not humbled, but he was humiliated in both cases, getting mocked by Shirou for his weaknesses and over-reliance on his weapons and Sakura forcing him to literally bend the knee to her.

Id like to see who these “90% of niggas” are in To Aru. Just about every cocky or evil person gets their comeuppance that I can think of

He could also come back, and make sure the manga was something decent, seeing as Toyo can't write worth a damn. He doesn't though, because he just doesn't give a shit about it. :mjlol Super Hero, he gave some bit of care to, and it shows. If he gave that same level to care to the manga, it'd no doubt be better than the tripe we're getting now.

It was an exaggeration about the 90% thing. Getting your comeuppance and getting humbled in the way I describe are very different. I wanna see Accelerator fight someone and just not be able to do a god damn thing. Im not talking like how Touma did him. I mean just bodied to the point he doesn't know wtf to do anymore. When I say humbled I mean HUMBLED
 
Not a particular character, but rather an archetype I noticed with a lot of modern media in general. An archetype where the protagonist (notice I didn't say "hero") anti-establishment while also being really smug and rude to just about everyone who isn't immediately on their side. Often they'll second guess everything as a way of making them "strong" or something, and basically every scene where this happens exists just so the character in question can get a "gottem" or "oh snap" moment. You know this is all a way for the writers to basically jerk themselves off since in a realistic scenario said protagonist will almost certainly face some serious consequences or even put others at harm's way just so they can have their "gottem" moment. Sometimes the latter does happen, but never the former. As a matter of fact, most protagonists who do this sort of thing, if they were written better and in a better written form of media, would almost never be portrayed as heroes, but in modern Hollywood morality is always centered on the beliefs of the protagonists.

I'm sure we can all think of a good few examples of these types of characters. Every one of them needs to get humbled.

like a good majority of Isekai protagonists deserve to get folded specifically for this reason. as @Astaro mentioned. Ainz also needs to get fucking folded. FUCKING EVERYONE IN UNORDINARY

Not all Isekai. Seen Skeleton Knight in Anoth World? One of my favorite anime this year.

Arc is basically Ainz if he wasn’t a colossal, pretentious douche.

Touma isn’t that great at it. It’s when the more ruthless characters do it.

Favorite bastards that got theirs I can think:

Terra getting a harsh reminder of real Christian values by Acqua before he flattens him with a pillar and condemns him to Hell.

Kihara Byouri: Psychologically tortured a student into becoming a killer and forcing their teacher to kill them to defend the rest of the class and just an overall smug bitch. Said teacher avenges that student by putting a sword through her neck and than ripping her head off

And the most reason one in GT3: Hamazura getting Kihara Hasuu who was a bastard even for a Kihara, into shooting himself in the gut and leaving him to bleed out.

Yeah Aizen had a melt down but ultimately it was Kisuke that did him in at the end and Aizen only git stronger after that without ever checking his ego
