I remember actually choosing to read that on my own for my English class and was surprised just how much I enjoyed it and felt it really hit me with its attempts to be deep unlike whatever I saw with most of HP's or other YA "writers".

And yes, Ender really WAS 10 when he did his adventures, he's just that fucking intelligent.
