Just because the Nasuverse has a lot of mistranslations and I use DeepL to try and find out what the original Japanese says doesn't mean I don't read the source material. I've been vs debating the Nasuverse since at least 2012, years before I even joined SB. Back when there were plethora of forums that are now dead.

Hey man, you are the one who admitted outright you read the cliffnotes of FGO rather than even watching or playing it. Then you use DeepL which further calls that into question(Since it basically removes all context to get to the bare minimum)...
And yeah, there are mistranslations but it's honestly really overplayed, all things considered.

It's why I'm gonna stop even trying to debate on Reddit because it's an absolute fucking mess and it makes perfect sense why plenty of people from it ends up heading into SB and other similar places.

In my experience, it only gets it wrong when the text was wrongly inputted

But you could always ask “is this correct?” and it will course-correct the translation immediately if it notices something is off

Like, I would get using DeepL if it was far, far earlier than it is now but the issue with DeepL now when stuff like ChatGPT exists is that loads of context is missing to get to the bare minimum... which isn't a good translation in any fashion when there are superior options(that still aren't perfect but far better than DeepL).

Seeing Da Vinci basically turn into someone from Buffy using DeepL and thinking that it's better than the Official Translation which keeps Da Vinci's personality intact does not make DeepL better, it shows how terrible it's limitations are.
It's even worse when I hear people say the Official Translation is bad but then you see Fan Translations from the Manga and they are 1:1 exactly the same.

The truly funny part is that the reason Fate has got people consistently saying this... isn't what I thought it was... what it actually is basically Facebook fans and otherwise wanting to peddle THEIR translations as the superior and do consistent nitpicks to get across the Official Translation is bad so that people can flock to their translations(Even Beast's Lair does it on occasion)... and then you find out it's literally not that different past making it even more literal-minded. It's weird shit to be certain.

Sieg(who Siegfried scales to and is stronger) does a Magnitude 10+ Earthquake which generates Mountains that utterly eclipse both Karna, Siegfried and the residue of the attack Karna launched earlier...

Mordred also stacks to this by not dying to the TNR Balmung + TNR Clarent Blood Arthur Clash and was only badly injured.

Tatsumi and Esdeath wind up as stains on the floor(Since they also allowed scaling Chains, then that means that Siegfried also benefits from Karna and Arjuna who wiped out the Grand Canyon with nothing more than their physical stats)

I could go even further but yeah, this isn't a contest at all since we are actually allowing scaling chains than whatever nonsense SB says otherwise.

EDIT: Fuck it, I am. Siegfried blocks Minamoto No Tametomo's arrows which are damn near comparable to Artemis' laser shots, especially as the nature of how he was powered up in Traum can potentially be comparable to how he was powered up in the Event that features him. And if we go by that, the excess energy that was destroyed by Super Orion's shot destroyed 3 Islands completely and perma-fucked up the 4th.

Do they know at all that in VS. debates, Magic A is Magic A? Cursed Energy is at it's core no different than Chakra which is no different than Reiatsu which is no different than Magical Energy/Od, etc, etc.(Of course, SB lies through it's teeth when it comes to certain shit as they think it's "too centralized" even when it isn't).

Nagato has been shown to absorb Chakra even when it's been converted into Ninjutsu and then converts it back before absorbing it(like with the Oil Jutsu), I don't see how Nagato can't absorb Dismantles or Cleaves when he has absorbed things that are far less clearly Chakra at that point than that(Not to mention, the Rinnegan would allow him to see them anyway).

All this talk of GPT > DeepL is making me consider looking back at the Soul Calibur thread There was a ton of DeepL usage when it came to the Japanese lore in there.

And I can attest to ChatGPT being legit, that shit is unexpectedly smart when it needs to be.

Given Terra was an asshole that experimented his powers on and murdered people he considered heathens, there’s a lot of pain to be sent back to him
