Circus of Humorous & Humiliating Arguments Part 5: Diamonds are fleeting. Stupid lasts forever

I mean yeah, I stand by that.
More fool you.
I think the fact that you're conflating "power" with "scariness" is just more confirmation that I was correct in saying "Pokemon is really scary dude" is a terminal touch grass moment.
I wasn't conflating "power" with "scariness", merely pointing out that it's fucking hard to feel intimidated by things that aren't a threat to you/are far weaker than the creatures you deal with on a regular basis.

Never mind that there ARE still Pokemon that are FAR scarier than ANYTHING in Attack on Titan and Ash has dealt with those, so this really would be just another Tuesday for him.

So yeah you're still the one who needs to touch grass to think anything in Attack on Titan would bother Ash.
Did you know that RJ Palmer's initial concept designs for Detective Pikachu were rejected by the producers because they felt they were too scary when Pokemon are supposed to be cute even when realistic? Something to think about.
Doesn't really surprise me, doesn't help your point at all but it's an interesting piece of trivia. Doesn't change the fact that Pokemon, as well as many other shows made for kids (such as Digimon) feature shit legitimately far scarier than ANYTHING in Attack on Titan.

Do you find watching episodes of Pokemon to be a more harrowing and frightening experience than watching the Saw movies because Pokemon is more powerful than Billy the Puppet or are you a human being with instincts and empathy

I don't even see the point of this question because it's ignoring the essence of the question to go towards the genre...
My guy, Saw is more "harrowing and frightening" than the average episode of Fate/Zero and Madoka but if you genuinely go to someone who watched both series and stated if that makes Billy the Puppet scarier than the Witches or Gilles De Rais, you would be laughed out of the room.

The Saw movies aren't harrowing or frightening, their gore fests that live or die by their mystery which gets increasingly convoluted to the point of being comical once you go passed the 1st or 2nd movie.

Also the characters in Saw movies aren't typically as likable as those in Pokemon so yes, there are more moments in Pokemon that are more "harrowing" than anything in the Saw movies.

Titans ain't got shit on Sabrina for fear factor. :geezuspepe

Also Ghost Type Pokemon just in general.

Ash died THREE TIMES ALONE in what is the equivalent of just the first arc of Pokemon...
Then he basically witnessed what is the equivalent of the Forces of the Universe and God Himself...

The fuck is a 3 meter tall being is supposed to be scary next to that when he seen a man go into his own dimension and was ultimately KILLED

@Adamant soul You forgot the time he almost drowned in the Safari Zone and got saved by Dragonair :maybe
Never saw the Safari zone episode, I don't think that was ever dubbed.

This only SEEMS less fucked up than it is because of the way the Pokemon show is presented, in that it has to be seen by children but when you measure it against horror scenarios, you see it for the fucked-upery that it is.

Digimon meanwhile is just more straight forward in showing this without sugarcoating it. Hiro (Ghost Game) would likely be thankful to be in AOT verse because it would be a break from the horrific shit he deals with on a regular basis. :jordangif

Hmm giant humanoids that eat people or a giant sea dragon that can NUKE CITIES?
I wonder which is scarier? :kobeha

It wasn't because GUN. The Porygon Episode was also banned because holy fuck the ecliptic bullshit!

Yeah, that's the entire deal with Pokemon, no different than other shows once you really look into it. Like the Nasuverse doesn't seem that scary... till you really look into how absolute bullshit it is in that you can die from so many things outside of your hands or hell, have things be massively changed due to that as well(Imagine basically being around someone so lucky, shit never happens... till they leave and all hell breaks loose).

It's the same shit with Dragonball, Bleach, Naruto, etc, etc. A show doesn't need to be made scary to be seen scary in the longterm.

Talk about him? Arceus tried to fucking MURDER Ash and Co. in one of the movies. Fucking imagine God Himself deciding He just gotta kill you even in a weakened fragment of His own absurd power.

Yeah they talk about God during the episode where Bulbasaur has the potential to evolve but learns Solar Beam instead

Spiders. Snakes. Jumpscares. The dark. Aggressive dogs. Public speaking. Mice. Tight spaces. Blood. The dentist. Needles. Crowded areas. Being alone. Death. Lots of things are scary lol. What do you think the points of idioms about mice and elephants are?
Yes IRRATIONAL fears exist, what's your point?
Last I checked, Ash didn't have a specific fear for over-sized humanoids that eat people.
For that matter, yeah, the fact Ash is scared of "creepy dolls" indicates he's a child and psychologically fairly normal lol.
Considering how regularly he shrugs off near-death or even ACTUAL death experiences, not to mention generally isn't intimidated at all even by the scariest looking Pokemon or ones powerful enough to easily kill him, he is PRETTY FUCKING FAR from being "normal" psychologically. :jordangif

The "creepy doll" in question was being controlled by a powerful psychic who could put people's souls in fucking teddy-bears. It was not simply the fact that the doll was creepy that bothered him or the viewer, but you know what does context mean in the grand scheme of things. :smh

psychologically fairly normal

My nigga, the man dives head first off cliffs to catch pokemon with no hesitation and with no hesitation, sealed may and pikachu inside an air tight tube and free dove through the ocean unaided to solve a crisis. the fuck you mean psychologically normal

He did that when Team Rocket captured his and Ritchie's Pokemon and literally tried to jump off a mountain cliff before Ritchie stopped him

Hell in episode 1 alone he used his own body as a shield, jumped off a waterfall and was prepared to fight the Spearow to the death to save a Pikachu he'd only met that day and that had done nothing but be a dick to him. :maybe

Totally normal right?
