I'm going to echo that ask for citations considering that Kiritsugu made an entire career out of killing modern day magi by using plain old firearms.
...That's literally against everything stated about not only Mages but how Kiritsugu operates...
Kiritsugu NEVER fights any Mage head on, we literally see this with Kayneth that he straight up LEFT when Kayneth confronted him the first time and explicitly fucked with him until he made critical blunders he could exploit.
Kiritsugu is an ASSASSIN, not a fighter.
Kirei being able to block bullets is explicitly framed as something super amazing that's basically unlike anything Kiritsugu has ever seen before in his long career as the Magus Killer.
So... we gonna forget that Kiritsugu explicitly notes that a Mage built for combat would murder his ass 10/10 times in the LN of Fate/Zero huh? That's why he struggled so miserably with Kotomine despite having Avalon as an ace in the hole. All you have done is prove the point that Kiritsugu is godawful in combat, not that Mages are weak as shit.
And the anime cranked Kirei's power levels up to 11 too. In the novel he mostly relies on magically enchanted Kevlar to survive bullets and it explicitly got worn out after a few quick bursts from low caliber guns.
...Huh? That didn't happen... the fuck is Mook talking about?!
The shit we see in the anime take of Kotomine vs. Kiritsugu is explicitly 1:1 with the LN with the only things being lost is the fact that Kiritsugu very much used Triple and Squared Accel against him to regain the advantage.
I brought up Kiritsugu because he's infamous as The Magus Killer and has made a long and successful career out of killing modern magi.
Yes, he did... but that was through assassinations, he never fought and killed a Mage in a fight, this also ignores that he has actually used the Origin Rounds on quite a few of those Mages which makes Mook's retarded statement even more stupid considering we see a non-Combat Mage be able to deal with "guns", "explosives" and otherwise with Kayneth...
The people he killed should all be capable of using basic magecraft. That's why it's known as "basic magecraft" after all. If it was difficult or rare then it would be advanced magecraft or exotic magecraft.
This is genuinely hilarious, he's just acting as if because Kiritsugu has killed Mages that he must have killed them in combat despite that is literally not how Kiritsugu has ever done anything because I'm guessing he's using the anime montage of Kiritsugu killing a few Mages from close range and in front of them to prove his point... but ignore that he was working WITH Natalya the entire time and like with his father, took them by surprise and shot them dead while they wasn't fully aware.
I brought up Kiritsugu to counter the assertion that the best physical feats in RWBY are stuff that could easily be replicated by a modern Magus with basic magecraft. If that was actually true Kiritsugu would have died the first time he tried to kill a Magus by using guns, as they could simply pick up a random stick off the ground and deflect every bullet he fired.
Why is he acting as if any Mage knows how to do Reinforcement like Shirou does? Yes, Reinforcement is basic Magecraft... but they wouldn't reinforce a stick... they would reinforce their skin, muscles or other parts of their body like Rin and Luvia do. This is also missing they would absolutely be prime targets for an Origin Round due to that so...
I'm not sure what your post has to do with any of that, either what I said or the topic I was responding to.
I'm not even sure what this stupidity even is because here's the kicker that Mook fails to understand even now:
Kiritsugu Emiya is a MAGE, yes, he doesn't use Magecraft offensively and makes due with guns, explosives and otherwise but they are never the kicker when it comes to facing off against a Mage, it's his Origin Round that is explicitly it:
Why Kiritsugu is considered a Magus Killer
That was the heresy that earned the magus Emiya Kiritsugu the nickname of "magus killer."
The weak point of the people called magi was usually negligence from arrogance. They believe in their own mysteries and knowledge. They never doubt that the only threat to them beside God cannot be anything other than a magus like them.
That is why, in battle, they are sensitive to nothing but traces of magecraft. To detect any kind of trivial skill. Hence they train their perception of magecraft, and think of counter-measures against those skills as derisive― That's a theory no magus strays from.
As a result, they ignore any attack that is purely physical and void of magecraft as secondary menace. They have no fear of the sharpest knife, the strongest bullet, until the instant they actually pierce the flesh of a magus. And before that happens, the strength of magecraft grants illusions, paralysis methods, or defensive bounded fields, able to completely negate any vulgar attacks.
But they despise technology. What a human who doesn't rely on magecraft can do― a lot of magi cannot recognize that.
The attack the enemy doesn't expect is a shortcut for all battles. Kiritsugu has reached a conclusion from a large number of battles-to-the-death between magi. That is, magi are weak to non-magical attacks.
...
When compared to magecraft, this night-vision sniping gun certainly falls behind. Magecraft can let you see better through the dark, and it is also possible to detect the position of an enemy magus. But with this gun, Kiritsugu is able to shoot down a target without releasing any prana.
In the dark, unable to detect any prana, the possibility of being hit from several hundred meters away― it is a situation a pro soldier wouldn't count as incomprehensible, but a lot of magi are really novices in such conditions. In fact, a self-conscious magus who has stepped into a world of mysteries beyond human intellect cannot relate to the stereotypes of a narrower world.
None of this at all proves Mook's point, it actually proves the opposite:
Kiritsugu is a Mage that knows how Mages operates and explicitly uses Guns, Explosives and otherwise to get Mages to lower their guard and then Origin Round them when they think it's a normal bullet because they are expecting to be attacked by Magecraft, not by shit they can easily no-sell otherwise.
This is also why Kiritsugu stated a Combat Mage would end him because they ARE trained for combat in every manner a Mage isn't and his ploys would not work in the slightest. Bazett would kill him 10/10 times, damn the Origin Round or needing Fragrach for that reason.
