Mongul appears is the main villain of one of Superman's most famous stories (For the Man who has Everything). He is also responsible for the destruction of Coast City which would be the driving force for Zero Hour and Parallax. He is a pretty major villain and a legitimately good matchup for Freeza thematically. Problem is it's another free victory for DC given the dumb stats DB gives.

Nobody really asked for Silver Samurai, Popeye, Booster Gold or other people but they brought them in. Mongul has also been in movies, tv shows and games and is a recognizable Superman villain.

Thor legit has become much stronger, like he is a skyfather level character unironically now

Better question is how he'd fare in his pre-Skyfarher incarnation and the answer is he is Galaxy level-ish but still likely has the speed and hax advantage. If the undecillions c shit doesn't apply to Thor here then Vegeta is roughly comparable in speed, lower maybe but now DB allows speed scaling so he's gonna be in the quintillions.

Folks wanted Popeye for DB for years and even Ben and Chad was interested in bringing him in not to mention he's a far bigger draw than Mongul so not a good example

Mongul as far as requested reps ain't up there these days like i rarely see much for him where i seen folks want Zod and Braniac

Except he hasn't, the only reason They even brought him in was because they couldn'T Think of a better match for Saitama and they even asked the fanbase if they would like to see this match-up

That doesn't affect his pull or popularity any, Carnage vs Lucy or Cable vs Booster Gold weren't trending or popular match-ups but they did them.

Season 7 had a lot of oddball or less major matchups in general so I don't think Cable vs BG is too outlandish

Thanks to calc stacking even Fairy Tail made it to Multi-continental and FTL in VBW

I also noticed some people arguing for Fire Force characters to be universe+ level because something something FTL ke = infinite Mass = infinite force = universe level

by that logic Star Platinum's punches are universe level and base Cars was also universe level, and since Joseph Joestar can take hits from him, he is also universe level

They probably banked on Carnage carrying the fight on namesake alone

Mongul depsite being a Superman villain has less pull the best you can find for him as MU goes is either Thanos or Apocalypse and Niether are happening

Would she have the gauntlet (Canon relic she was given) and thus no (Presumably Paladin) shield? Would she use the Enhancer, Apocalypse, Ultima Weapon, or Lightbringer? Would she have Soul of Thasama?
