Death Battle Discussion

alright
good opening but spiderverse is the biggest hit right now. It’s doing ok but not crazy high box office or anything, still has yet to be released in a few countries though iirc
i dont really see it doing much more than 600mil for its run but id love to be surprised. It’s a decent movie and certainly better than anything the mcu has been churning out
How Unicron in it

on god?
What outside observers identify as "animation errors" are actually the result of time and space anomalies occurring within the universe, but only for the briefest of moments. The many reality-bending exploits of the Transformers have resulted in numerous instances of these logical impossibilities. The anomalies are then "self-correcting", disappearing as soon as they happen, and thus maintaining the integrity of the universe. The erasure of these anomalies causes those who have observed/experienced them to forget them immediately, as they have been wiped from history, hence how nobody ever seems to "notice" them. This season of movies the only ones that did well are Spiderman, Mario and John Wick.

All the others did not fare "good".

I know it's strange because there are movies that grossed more than Wick but were much more expensive, and that took its toll on them, and many strong premieres next to each other.

Also remember to double any movie budget, as advertising is most of the money spent on any movie. If a movie has a 300 M $ budget, expect a 350 M $ Advertising budget

actually looking at it transformers will probably be lucky to pass 500mil, which is a shame bc it’s decent and had some heart to it

they didn’t start really dropping trailers until like april though and it came out in june so that may be a big chunk of it

And that a part of the price of the movie ticket goes to the movie and another part to the theaters, it varies from country to country but the relationship is more or less 60-40, so a good part also stays in the theaters, so many times for a movie to be classified as a success it must make more or less triple what it cost.

He's not wrong. It's also the closest, with every other popular fight for Hit being an enormous stomp in his favor. This one entirely depends on what they go with, and is a 50/50 really.
Well tbf folks suggest Shit like Zoom and that one is akin Black vs Thawne on ass beating against Hit
But yeah pretty

Not a lot have suggested that, to be honest. And the people who have, are usually DC-stans who want to see DC get another easy win over on Dragon Ball. :mjlol

Hit's basically a character who has most of his matches end in a horrific stomp in his favor. The only other fight that's 'close', speaking in very loose terms, compared to his other fights, is against Cygnus Hyoga from Saint Seiya, which I only really saw pushed hard by certain Touhou fans on VSBW, who didn't want Hit vs Sakuya, due to 'the connections' or some other silly excuse.:heston

A buddy from the discord said
yeah Hit is one of those characters you look mainly at abilities and vibes for opponents
the thought process shouldn't be "whats the connections" and more "would this be a fun opponent to watch Hit fight"

In Saint Seiya the most equal to Hit is Tokisada, who is a Gold Saint from the anime canon (so he shouldn't scale from G) and has several time control hax.

But he is not a popular Saint Seiya character, also as far as I understand Saint Seiya was never that popular in the USA, not like it was in France or LA that it would be worth the risk with an unpopular character from that franchise.

I don't know if it would be better to put Hit against another bounty hunter like Lobo, but I imagine that Dragon Ball vs. DC comics are already boring.

given what happen the last time two toei properties face each other(beerus vs galaxia) they took it down
and nah lobo don't need to come back and we don't need another dragon ball vs capeshit MU

What is the most obscure series Death Battle has experimented with anyway? I figured with Saint Seiya, they could at least try one match with it given it’s significant presence on Vs Boards.

Back when DB Super was airing, there was a huge rivalry between Saint Seiya and Dragon Ball fans on Comic Vine with like 10 vs threads a day between the two series on there

The crew at the time weren't familiar with the series hell when Beerus came in and fought Galaxia folks ask them what about Hades from SS and they didn't knew who the hell he was let alone the series

Nowadays there aware of it and said Moon vs Seiya bound to happen down the line

Idk how well Saint Seiya would nowadays unless Mexicans come in droves the moment they see death battle bring the series on

Any chances to grow in the west been neuter and flopped and it's clout in vs isn't as big as before

Since long before Super, Dragon Ball vs. Saint Seiya was the most popular match in Latin American forums, it is a very sensitive fiber, being two works so loved and that everyone knows, it is much wilder than the HST combats.

I say it more as an anecdote, because DB does not use that audience.

But if with Beerus he had problems with Galaxia, Seiya vs Sailor Moon could also bring those problems.
