Looking into Byakuya's (Bleach) possible mu. I get Itachi and Kurama for obvious similarities. But why are Darth Maul and Mace Windu popular match-ups for him? What even are the connections he has with them? The only thing I can think of is that zanpakatous are kind've like Bleach's lightsabers (which doesn't narrow down why they specefically are popular mu for him) and that Darth Maul has a brother.
Dick Gumshoe VS Inspector Zenigata (Ace Attorney VS Lupin III)- Sam likes Lupin III (though he didn’t like it growing up), but doesn’t know much about Ace Attorney. Ben thinks it could be fun, and Chad says they seem like similar characters. Sam doubts that Ace Attorney characters have much in terms of feats, but Ben wouldn’t be surprised if they do. Ben suggests Lupin VS Detective Conan, which Chad and Sam like.
Gorr the God Butcher VS Merged Zamasu (Marvel VS Dragon Ball)- Sam thinks it makes sense. He’s seen a lot of Gorr requests lately, which surprises him because Gorr was only in the comics for one arc to his knowledge. Sam notes that Gorr’s arc is where a lot of Thor’s best feats come from. Chad says the MU could be “epic”, and Sam says it’s “kinda like ‘Evil Guy Thor VS Vegeta’”.
Jaime Lannister VS Askeladd (Game of Thrones VS Vinland Saga)- They’re not familiar with Vinland Saga. It’s pointed out that Jaime might be hard to analyze, since he doesn’t have many feats from before he lost his hand, but if they focus on the stuff from after he lost it, then he wouldn’t be getting analyzed at his peak. Chad argues in response that we see him fight a few times beforehand, and his reputation as an amazing fighter means he could get some good scaling.
Speed Racer VS Vert Wheeler (Speed Racer VS Hot Wheels Battle Force 5)- They’ve never heard of HWBF5. Sam says they did Death Race because they “want so badly to have this kind of shit”, so he's on board with the premise. Ben thinks Speed Racer would be super fun to have on DB.
Spike VS Revy (Cowboy Bebop VS Black Lagoon)- It gets glossed over because it’s been talked about a bunch. Sam reiterates that it’s planned as a Cast debate, and calls it a banger. Chad says “it’s gonna happen at some point”.
Jaden Yuki VS Ben Tennyson (Yu-Gi-Oh VS Ben 10)- Sam thinks it’s cool and fun. Chad says that the first Yu-Gi-Oh episode should be Ash VS Yugi. Sam responds that he’s not sure it should be Ash VS Yugi specifically, but he definitely thinks Yugi should appear before Jaden.
Pegasus Seiya VS Sailor Moon- Sam and Ben call it a classic anime MU. Chad really wants to use Usagi and thinks it’s a good MU.
Spider-Punk VS Chai (Marvel VS Hi-Fi Rush)- Neither Ben or Chad have played Hi-Fi Rush, but they both think it looks good. They don’t really express opinions on the MU.
Lord Drakkon VS Ohma Zi-O (Power Rangers VS Kamen Rider)- Sam calls it “the ultimate end-all of the Super Sentai style”. They all think it looks cool.
King VS Incineroar (Tekken VS Pokemon)- Ben thinks it’s funny. Chad really likes the MU, noting they’ve never done a proper wrestling episode. It's noted that King is just a man in a jaguar mask, but Ben and Erin point out that Tekken scaling should still put him on a similar level to Incineroar.
Richard Nixon VS Doctor Manhattan (Monument Mythos VS Watchmen)- Chad calls it “ridiculous”, and notes that the average person would probably be confused by the premise. Sam notes that it’s popular among the community, and Chad says Liam really likes it.
Nox VS Strange Supreme (Wakfu VS Marvel’s What If)- They don’t know the characters well enough to have an opinion.
Sarah Kerrigan VS Illidan Stormrage (StarCraft VS Warcraft)- Chad doesn’t know how powerful Kerrigan is, but assumes Illidan stomps. Sam agrees that Illidan wins, but says Kerrigan is pretty powerful, especially when taking game mechanics into account, so it might be decently close. Ben asks if Kerrigan has ever destroyed a planet, and Sam answers no, but the Zerg do consume (not necessarily destroy) planets. Sam thinks the MU would be cool, and says if anyone from StarCraft appears in DB, it should be Kerrigan.
Boros VS Battle Beast (One-Punch Man VS Invincible)- They’ve surprisingly never seen it before. They all think it’s a cool MU, and Sam likes One-Punch Man VS Invincible as a franchise pairing.
Evangelion Unit-01 VS Wing Gundam Zero- Chad wants to use Eva-01 a lot. The OP worded the MU as “Shinji Ikari VS Heero Yuy”, leading to jokes about the possibility of it just being a fight between the pilots (they all agree Heero would stomp in that case). Sam finds Evangelion somewhat weird to use due to the Biblical themes near the end. He also notes the height difference between the two, which Chad says is a recurring problem with robot MUs. Regardless, Sam says it’s a cool MU, which he also thinks could make a good DBX.
Scott Pilgrim VS Seven (Scott Pilgrim VS Scissor Seven)- They’ve never heard of Scissor Seven, but Erin Googles it and thinks it sounds interesting. Sam says they’ll look into it.
(Robotboy VS Jenny Wakeman and Emmet VS Jesse both get glossed over because they’ve been discussed before).
Harry Potter VS Percy Jackson- Chad says it’s been “requested a million times”. Erin has been enjoying the Percy Jackson Disney+ series. Sam says he and Liam both prefer Percy VS Zagreus (Ben also thinks that MU's fun).
Arceus VS Aslan (Pokemon VS The Chronicles of Narnia)- Chad loves it. Sam says it makes sense, and he "doesn’t like it and also likes it”. Chad thinks it’d be funny to analyze Aslan. Sam dislikes Arceus, finding their introduction to be “when Pokemon jumped the shark in a lot of ways”. Ben finds Aslan weird, because he's canonically the Judeo-Christian God, but “when he fights, he’s just a lion”.

Xemnas VS Pain (Kingdom Hearts VS Naruto)- Sam thinks it makes “a fair bit of sense”. He says it’s pretty cool (which Chad agrees with), and he never would have thought of Kingdom Hearts VS Naruto. Sam calls it underrated upon seeing that it only got 20 hearts.
Ash Ketchum VS Yugi Muto (Pokemon VS Yu-Gi-Oh)- “If it’s Pikachu VS Blue Eyes White Dragon, I don’t know how it goes”. Chad and Sam both say it’s fun and would be really cool.
Rin Okumura VS Moka Akashiya (Blue Exorcist VS Rosario + Vampire)- They’re not familiar with either series (though Ben has heard Blue Exorcist is really good). They think it sounds cool from the connections though.
Alucard VS D (Castlevania VS Vampire Hunter D)- It’s cool and they like it. They say that “D is very stupid”, and has a lot of insane feats that probably weren’t meant to be analyzed in a battlehoarding context.
Lucina VS Clairen (Fire Emblem VS Rivals of Aether)- They don’t know Clairen, but say it seems pretty cool from the connections. Sam says Lucina is the biggest request for a Fire Emblem character.
First matchup for the next Ballot Banter is Captain Marvelous VS Kamen Rider Decade (Super Sentai VS Kamen Rider).

brainiac vs shockwave is great on paper but shockwave's just really outgunned. Even with prep he's very low into universe+/multiversal and given DC comics I would bet he's got some weird fucky multiversal feats out there
