Well either Melkor arbitrarily changed his conventions or something is very weird here. Gad didn't clarify how his role works till recently, so could be something. My normal assumption would be he just goes with a given description, if it's a fake claim so...

Sometimes there's not always an "angle" in a discrepancy. E.g. Watson taking her partners fake lmao

I feel like the dynamic in Gad's role feels very real, like something Melkor would put in as scum or town, the whole conditional aspect anyway. But this part smells off

We've had both town and scum motivators in past games and the town ones are typically in games setup where town usually lacks traditional protective roles, also again names no sense for him to fake claim JOAT if he was a jailor since it's just fit better in town reading him

Actually I just found another role from his thriller bark game:

2-shot day motivator - during the day amp target’s next action - it cannot be stopped from reaching its target by any means (however abilities affecting the target itself will apply normally). Target will be informed about receiving amp effective from the end of dayphase.

So nevermind, seems like he is very flexible about this definition
