gram can we have a precise description of what EXACTLY is ranked or what constitutes as ranked? we have more than one community here so one style of games is likely not gna cut it for everyone.
could we post ranked games for select few every time? like some games wont be played by certain audiance while others will. it will split the playerbase a bit but its better than just forcing one style
we can get players from offsite to eventually stick around here which would mean there will be roughly about same number of people with ws style vs other style mindsets. my preposition is allowing them to run ranked games so long as its approved by a host from their community if required. then the game itself will mostly be filled by players from that community but im okay with that
this site is a refugee site for more than one community afterall

"Style" has nothing to do with it, it's about relative balance and a lack of silly shit.
I mean inevitably this will happen because there are always going to be people coming here to play mafia from different sites and boards with different expectations
We should have ranked games be reviewed as part of the standard process

The reviewers have to be only staff members? A select handful of people who can be 'trusted' with the section moderators since Poyser is not the only moderator for mafia here?

I mean you have to be specific because point is we've had more then one incident regarding different play styles and formats causing headaches here. Sigismund, Aries, Poyser, you, and maybe 4 trusted players who have great experience hosting and making balanced games to review any ranked match game to get on the que? Sounds like that's what your saying.
That's a vague description.
It’s not for me to make a ruling, but it should be obvious why a game with partial but not full setup disclosure when it comes to roles can’t be ranked. It’s supposed to be a competitive game.
As for the rest of this, it’s pure nonsense. If you want to play WG games, go play on WG. I honestly don’t understand your obsession with making a group of people who want to play a distinct type of game with certain assurances of the notes it will try to hit, then abandon that to play something there is 0 appetite for, only for the sake of appeasing your masturbatory need to drive change for changes sake.
Fundamentally I only speak for myself but I’m fairly confident there is consensus among us, and I’d ask that if you wanna play with us, respect our traditions rather than trying to turn this section into another WG for people who don’t want to wait in their queue to host
I think there are more players who are capable here if giving a game a look over so I would consider more than just staff, otherwise we can pull in a staff member by default

Well the issue is gonna then default to "who said these non-staff members who are helping represent the section get to call these shots on what does or doesn't fit their standard, why are they in charge of this?".
There's no formalized/scientific process for checking games so this is about as good as it gets
