Okay, I actually liked that. Reminds me of the Dubs in the past with the Narrators going full on ham and cheese.
Guys got a very distinct voice and is popular in Japan. He regularly wrecks his voice and even required surgery once since he plays such batshit insane characters
It was stupidity. They actually wrote him decently at first by accident. They thought what they did made him look evil, somehow, but to most people it just made him look like the only likeable character in RWBY, even if the plan they gave him was shit. So basically, for volume 8, they turned up the retard-dial and made him saturday-morning cartoon villain bad just to get over what their original intent was, and thought they'd done a good job writing it properly in volume 8.Downright horrendous, in every way imaginable.
It didn't work because the main team and "rebels" were fucking dumb and justified Ironwood making extreme decisions because of how bad their decisions were

And oh yeah, DFO Global actually skipped the Pre-Metastasis plot as the game was ended before that and I think Neople Korea didn't have full access to that so we started Post-Metastasis(Before we basically got the insane Timeline split versions we do now)
