Blame the fact that retarded rich kids was able to jump into a hobby and ultimately rewrite it all due to the good graces of their fellow retarded geeks in H&R that allows them to keep getting work even when they should have been long blacklisted for the heaping piles of trash they leave behind.

Also blame BlackRock for helping keeping companies funded so they can allow these retarded rich kids to do this horrific shit unabated.
Pray the recession starts hitting these people hard enough that they will become undesirables due to basically taking away all of their money without a safety net and actually hire good writers.

You may not, but I've seen a fair few who do, and are even dumb enough to either call Elric a clone of Witcher somehow, or defend Witcher's blatant plagiarism of the Elric series. Shit, even CD Projekt Red became aware of how badly plagiarized the book series was from Elric, and did as much as they could to distance themselves from it with the second and third games.
