I know that but at the same time, it probably could have ruined Brock's thunder if Austin was able to pull one over on him at any point and you know that has happened in the past and future with wrestlers who have "it".

That's... literally what I just said. He got billed as the next big thing prior to Rock, if I recall correctly, and over the years, he proved that moniker to be the case a thousand times over, not just with all the stuff he's done in WWE, but also what he managed to do in UFC.

Yeah and I never said that Stone Cold didn't want to elevate Lesnar, he absolutely wanted to. It's just that he regrets walking out the way he did and let's be fair here, what Stone Cold stated wasn't wrong... but at the same time, it's also difficult as hell to do a feud without accidentally fucking over an up and comer like Brock especially when he was still establishing himself.

That shit has happened before and still happens now so I can understand why Vince wanted to do it on Free TV.
