Rin Tohsaka gets the benefit of us seeing things from her perspective in the prologue and Bulma is a comedic character whose meant to be a little insufferable so it works.

Rin Tohsaka is one of those characters who primarily get away with being a Tsundere due to looking at the Prologue, her situation and the fact that she literally has to put up a mask because of what she got from her father... and it actually does fuck her over in some of the Bad Ends due to that mask(including getting the absolute worst end due to that).

It does make it better that Nasu and the other writers tend to literally have Rin's more nebulous actions tend to backfire not just because of her good nature... but because she literally has a family issue where apparently all Tohsakas fuck up at the finish line.

Like don't get me wrong I enjoy every character in BL far more than anyone in JJK or Bleach but lets not pretend they arent the shallowest of the shallow. Just like Jormungands author Hiroe understands characters dont need to be deep but they should at least be entertaining. He makes sure theyre fun first before trying to build on a backstory and he keeps it short and sweet so you aren't trying to have a pity party for them

Hell the whole point of the Japan arc was to illustrate that every single side involved is absolutely fucked in the head and the only sane nigga is a japanese salaryman who's slowly losing his mind

The movie is actually divided into two parts.

Even just the singular condensed version is about as long as Avengers: Infinity War at 150 minutes.

Both parts combined is over 4 and a half hours long surpassing the third Lord of the Rings movie.
