Or rewrite Japanese history to turn an African migrant who ended up there who wasn’t even a samurai into a revolutionary that’s slicing up the Japanese all while hip hop music is blaring (even though Yasuke was never an African American)

Ah yes, forgive me for trying to apply logic and looking at the actual story itself, instead of focusing purely on the skin colour, gender and sexuality of the people making it. What was I thinking?

Of course they can do whatever they want with the culture of white people (that they claim we don't have) but we can't even tell stories about THEM regardless of how well the story is actually presented.

Let's ignore them trying to threaten their way into control of a Chinese video game, based on a Chinese book, made by Chinese developers. Just because there's no "diversity" (in a game with creatures of many different types and species), and too few female characters (which is also wrong).

HOT DAMN! This woman gives not a single fuck about who you are, her squad or not, Captain or not, you fucked up then get to training noobs.

Don't know if Mereoleona is gonna be my FAVOURITE female necessarily, I go more for good character arcs than just badasses but I can already tell she's certainly going to be enjoyable.

Comes across more like someone who was taught by craggy Sister Teresa than Fuegoleon. Weather she actually was or not I don't know. I'm assuming so as she gives off similar energy and it would make sense for Teresa to have taught both the older Vermillion siblings.

Yasuke was definitely given much the same privileges, but he was never outright referred to as samurai, by anyone, in the sources, so it's more of a grey area, where you can't say he wasn't, but at the same time, can't say he was, in any definitive manner.

Regardless, it was a poor choice to choose Yasuke for the protagonist of a Japanese Assassin’s Creed game

It’s given the game so much attention, other shit that would have probably been allowed to slide are getting noticed like how the architecture of some of the buildings in the game are Chinese, choosing the wrong crest’s between clans, and the recent scandal involving having both the protagonists as figurines posing on a half Torii Gate, which the Japanese associate for a photograph of said gate after the bombing of Nagasaki and a shrine today built around it

Ubisoft had the easiest game to print money. A
Japanese Assassin’s creed would have naturally sold with how long the fandom’s asked for it and even better, they had Ghost of Tsushima to literally copy the homework of to make it authentic.

And they still managed to turn this into their biggest fuck-up yet

Origins was so good. Last great Assassin’s Creed game for me.

Absolutely loved the DLC expansion of going into the Egyptian afterlife and fighting the spirits of several Pharoahs and set pieces like the Valley of Kings

At least Kirsch is willing to give some good advice to his team mates (and he's up against Asta so Mimosa's got a good shot) and I already know that arrogant toss pot Solid doesn't stand a chance against Noelle.

At least make him work for it Finral, if not beat his fucking ass.

There's also them using chinese subs for the japanese trailer of the game, the use of AI generated images, Ubisoft plagiarising one of Zoro's swords and passing it off as Yasuke and other tiny things like the produce being out of season. They're even making fun of it in japan.
