Outside of Yujirou(Whose only miscast due to his other Dub VA for the past show was much better at pulling off Yujirou's mannerisms), the Baki Dub cast is honestly superb in really getting the "I fight for a living and nothing else matters" vibe the characters tend to have.
Baki in particular tends to be my favorite in the dub because the VA really makes damn sure to make him come off both likeable and intimidating as fuck.
chill also with the double posts, lil bro, you done it many times, no need to spam posts, you can write what you want in one big post, when its semi tldr levels
Sorry the reason I actually do that often is because some posts are meant to address each different points and different topics for each user and I wanted to make sure that other posters reading them didn't just focus on one thing and ignore the rest.
But okay, I will try to merge posts for shorter replies for this one.
Both have a few standouts amidst a pile of meh but even the bad shounen aren't specifically making their characters ugly or "diverse" props for political messages rather than actual characters.
Well I kinda agree. Most of these modern AAA Western game character designs seem so ugly, dull, and unappealing. Whereas modern Shonen characters, as super-bland as they are in their own way for me, at least aren't such an eyesore by comparison.
No one talking about interesting or appealing character because there's no competition right now.
The Best AAA game with character appeal is sports which took people from the real world.
As for fictional character probably none in the last 5 or so years. Even Bayonetta literally got murdered in her last game.
