OBD Convo #58: We are the Heroes of Justice

@Darth Nihilus I will officially eat crow on something we discussed on one of the streams.

Recently decided to replay Assassin's Creed Origins and give it another shake, since its been quite a while since I last played. And I have to say, I judged that game too harshly.

I'm still of the mind that every New AC game after it is dogshit that isn't for me, but I'll make an exception for that game, as I've genuinely been having fun with it.

Origins was the last good AC game in my book

Really loved the Egyptian setting

I love how the original anime, which really was just a bunch of episodes of Dante fighting the demon of the week with little real narrative, handled the idea of the good demon much better than Netflix did.

Meaning when Dante was hired to kill the demon who had fallen in love with a rich guy's daughter, then promptly refused to do so because (in his mind) that guy had gained "humanity" and the only thing he chooses to exterminate are demons (his words as he walked away).

Funny how seemingly the entire point of the NAME of the franchise flew completely over the head of Adi. :maybe

Bro lied about the "demons good, religion bad" stuff too and ran for damage control before the show came out saying the show wasn't going to have that message... only for the show to come out and have that exact message.

I hope, with how much the negative rep he has gained over the years from Netflixvania, and DMC being more popular in recent memory, that this is the straw that breaks the camels back and just ends Shankar's career, and at least pushes him aside from any production in the future.

If I was Johnny, I’d have to wash my mouth with soap afterwards from having to say such cringe off a script
