Implying games with an anime art style can't be "consistently serious in tone" or "real"? 
Looks like the back-pedalling has begun where NOW, because the idea that "turn-based doesn't sell" has been put down, they have to come up with other reasons why turn-based JRPG's in particular still don't work or are somehow inferior.
Despite the fact that, without those games to inspire this one, you would never have gotten it in the first place.

They should join forces. I don't know why they wouldn't if this is going to be the direction.
That would make the women's division matter a lot more, especially the questionable IC title.

The IC and US titles just need some actual story telling and more bodies to fill the women's mid-card which is only like three or four women for each brand, resulting in the same matches over and over. The women's NA title on NXT doesn't really have that issue because they actually have a lot of mid-carders (frankly they have the opposite issue, they have more women than they know what to do with).
Bayley and Becky have given a much needed JOLT of life to this IC title but I don't want the main-eventers hogging the belt, kind of defeats the purpose of introducing it in the first place (ie to give the mid-carders something to fight for and help build them up). My hope is that the end-game here is to put Lyra in a major storyline in an attempt to get her more over and not simply to give the title to Becky and/or Bayley 'cause you don't want to actually build the mid-card.
Okay I get the frustration from TNA fans about the NXT guys as, even though I enjoy both shows, I acknowledge it gets a little ridiculous at times. But saying Trick Williams jumping Joe Hendry had NO STORY, proves you sir didn't even pay attention to the TNA show they are currently watching.
They literally went over Joe Hendry's busy week, including his visit to NXT where he and Oba beat the shit out of Trick and threw him out of the ring ON THIS SHOW. Like this is probably THE most story justified instance of an NXT star attacking a TNA one that they've done so far. Joe Hendry got in Trick's way of getting back to the NXT title (much like he thinks everything else gets in his way at the moment) so he's gonna go after the TNA title instead.
And weather you like it or not, what's the alternative? There's very little in the way of credible main event guys on TNA at the moment. You can't give Mustafa Ali a title shot after he just LOST to Santana, they're clearly saving Santana to win the belt later on and the only other real option is Elijah (Elias in WWE) whose still being Joe Hendry's friend as a Babyface (obviously he'll turn on him later but it's too early to do that yet).
Trick is actually an interesting match-up for Joe so I at least am excited to see how this feud goes.

Oh you'd best BELIEVE that I'll chant WHOOP THAT TRICK if he wins. I like Joe and all but Trick's been doing pretty good work as a heel.
Honestly this just makes a lot more sense for Trick given he's already a two-time NXT champion and has lost his last two attempts at Oba. There's really not a whole lot left for him to do in NXT. So you either had to move him to the main roster OR have him go for a title he's never challenged for.

He's genuinely pretty good as a heel although, even in the show itself, they acknowledge he's too similar to Carmelo Hayes. I get that it's part of the character they're going with and he puts enough of himself in it but still, probably shouldn't draw attention to it.
