Can you just look into Evans? He's making me go insane.
Again, a point in his favor from my POV
Shades Magic here. Reads like it's agenda driven. I read Magic tonally as town, mechanically null.
Instinctual read
I did in the ISO
1. You're soft to hard town lean
2. Evans soft town lean to null
Reasons:
For you, go back to the ISO. Your approach and tone (much like Lethal's) gives me the stronger gut instinct
He does this and coordinates with me, I considered this a point in his favor
Tonally how he is scumhunting I am fully okay locking him town
He showed up at an opportune time - let's use it to our benefit
Because there's a reason he's trying to get you and Evans to work with one another and not against each other because he knows it's due to hypertunneling
Here's the thing, he did not use the hypertunneling - why would he, as scum, not pit two players against one another?
but I'm giving you the best case scenario instead of the worst, because I think we lucked in
I'm echoing his approach to mediating
For me, he's asking the right questions
This was part of him trying to consider a different scenario. It doesn't come across as opportunistic fmpov. I figured he was also stuck on the mechanic portion of Ral like the rest of us.
1. His entrance gave me a strong gut read.
2. His approach to solving and deliberating over not just one scenario but alternative ones mirrored Lethal's town play, who I locked town. This further cemented my read on him at this point by comparing Letha's meta and Magic's town meta. I could be pocketed, of course, he can and wil play 5D chess as scum if he's trying to get into my head.
3. Mediation is invaluable for me. It may not be for anyone else but it tends to be a townie trait that helps solidify my reads.
4. The right questions for me.
For me, I don't think scum would bother with presenting an alternative that a player could be town. It isn't their job. It's town's job.
These might be absymal reasons, but do note alot of what defined my read of Magic to begin with was on instinct which can't really necessarily be explained. It's an abstraction. There's some things that are concrete like how he approached the Ral fiasco presented in the above quotes.
I'm not going to discount a world where Magic is pulling the wool over my eyes. Worst case scenario is he's indie, I just don't think he's Mafia.
