"Your information must be certified ny the high priests" kinda vibesThe problem is whose standard of evidence?
A socialists? The wokesters? We have demonstrable proof that the scientific and medical communities are engaging in widespread fraud for ideological reasons and who trusts what?
Put the sources out in public and let people decide.
Don't force people to use only sources that you and the staff find respectable. Given some of your peers here I assure you, you will be dispensing witchcraft.
Edit- it's rather disturbing that you think you can only have knowledge on a subject if you cite information that other people approve of.
Knowledge doesn't work on consensus.
it is true that i am a witch

I'm gonna make a debate about this under feedback shortly. Move this post, reply to it. Invite everyone to share their opinions the matter but I'm also asking if the other mods just want me to leave it be and not change anything. The problem is whose standard of evidence?

i was poking fun at myselfI was being hyperbolic there I meant "Peer reviewed sources that are little better than hocus pocus"
IE we should allow all material to be submitted no matter how retarded rather than restrict the flow of information via rules filtered through a biased and potentially implemented by people with foggy lenses.
Buuuuttttt if it makes you feel better about the caricature you probably have of everyone in here not calling children in dresses stunning and beautiful I can froth at the mouth and screech about you needing to come to Jesus...
Not that I'm particularly religious and my contempt towards Evangelicals (You heretics need to start saying Latin Masses again..damn apostates) is probably greater than yours.
Sincerely - the world's the most lapsed Catholic with the exception of the Pope
Yes it is. Oh looks like you provided the receipts.Aren't hormone blockers insanely dangerous? I heard that it fucks with the pancreas and liver.
Any kind of hormone therapy is incredibly risky. Giving males testosterone for example can sterilize them and cause hypergonadism.I suppose the gamble here is that if you can transition early enough it will help significantly more than a post puberty transition?
It doesn't seem like any of the solutions currently employed is helping judging from the suicide rates.Any kind of hormone therapy is incredibly risky. Giving males testosterone for example can sterilize them and cause hypergonadism.
Diabetes is what I would imagine is the biggest risk to HRT for trans people. Followed by exacerbating their mental problems due to fundamentally screwing with their brain chemistry.
And this is ignoring something like 90% of kids who get transitioned destransition then accuse their mothers of having Munchausens by Proxy or doing it for exploitative reasons or saying they did it to escape abuse.
So I wonder how "successful" it is at achieving those ends.
It doesn't seem like any of the solutions currently employed is helping judging from the suicide rates.
It also seems like we keep doubling down on solutions that aren't providing relief.
In the study, young people with gender dysphoria and their carers were told: "Hormone blockers will make you feel less worried about growing up in the wrong body and will give you more time and space to think about your gender identity."
Gonadotropin releasing hormone agonists (GnRHas) have been found to impair memory in adults, so the study by Wojniusz et al. (2016) on the possible cognitive effects of these drugs on children treated for idiopathic central precocious puberty (CPP) represents an important contribution to research in this area . . . Recent findings that GnRHas increase depression symptoms (Macoveanu et al., 2016) and slow reaction time (Stenbæk et al., 2016) in healthy women, and reduce long-term spatial memory in sheep (Hough et al., 2017) underline the importance of the research that Wojniusz et al. (2016) have undertaken. Girls treated for CPP with triptorelin acetate were tested with the short form Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children III.
It was found that the girls had a mean IQ of 94, as against a mean IQ of 102 for the matched control group (Wojniusz et al., 2016). These IQ estimations are presented as standardized IQ scores, which places a girl scoring 102 at the 55th percentile, and a girl scoring of 94 at the 34th percentile. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?Db=pubmed&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=27462292
The findings of Wojniusz et al. (2016) can be compared with those of a 2001 study in which 25 children treated for early puberty with triptorelin acetate were tested with the short form Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (Mul et al., 2001). In this longitudinal study, children took the IQ test before treatment and again after 2 years of treatment. It was found that their IQ dropped 7 points from 100 to 93. With 25 treated participants, this 7 point drop was significant (p = 0.002). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?Db=pubmed&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=11683207
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5694455/Single person study of effects of puberty blockers on 12-year-old shows IQ drop of 9 points in 15 months
Staphorsius et al. (2015) conducted a study in a GD adolescent group under hormonal suppression to investigate the impact of pubertal suppression on executive function (EF). They compared GD adolescents under GnRHa treatment to GD adolescents undergoing physiological puberty and compared them to male and female control groups. They used the Tower of London test and found a negative impact of pubertal suppression on EF. However, they also associate this outcome with a lower IQ before GnRHa treatment.
Additionally, a global IQ decrease (WISC-III) was reported in a longitudinal follow-up of girls with central precocious puberty (Schuerger and Witt, 1989) treated with GnRHa.
Finally, a third study correlated verbal skill impairment to pubertal suppression in a GD group (Costa et al., 2015).
