Miraak has a super impressive feat that got overlooked for all this time. I've never seen anyone else bring this up...

When Miraak absorbs a dragon soul in the final battle, the skies of Apocrypha change colour, temporarily turning from green to yellow. This is from the top of the tower you are fighting on, which is quite tall, and this change in colour spans to the horizon.

Here're a few other versions where they captured the moment better than I did (this effect lasts a few seconds after the dragons soul has finished being absorbed).

On top of this, it's worth repeating that not only is Miraak using multiple Dragon Shouts simultaneously, but he's able to inflict harm on others while ethereal (infact, he outright kills each dragon with a single attack).

Spells can be used to destroy someones mind, and fireballs can turn someone to char.
Hiding in the shadows, stalking your prey, liberating items from the unworthy. Some call you scoundrel, rogue, thief! But really, is it any more civilized to stomp stridently around in clanking platemail armor, swinging your claymore at anything that crosses your path, or to destroy a person’s mind with a spell, or to char someone with a fireball?

Miraak is corrupting the All-Maker Stones to compel the people of Solstheim to rebuild them and strengthen his own power.
The Skaal of Solstheim revere six Sacred Stones, symbols of their bond with nature and the All-Maker. These places of power are being corrupted by Miraak, who is compelling the people of Solstheim to rebuild them to strengthen his own power.

A new power in the form of an ancient creeping terror is slowly engulfing Solstheim, as Miraak is siphoning the island's All-Maker Stones and enslaving its inhabitants. His power grows, and only the Dragonborn may be able to stop him.
A new power - an ancient, creeping terror - is gradually enveloping the island of Solstheim off the coast of Morrowind. For it seems the long-forgotten tombs and sacred stones are resonating; grasped firmly by the machinations of the first Dragonborn: Scholars tell of a priest named Miraak, who served the dragons with a group of powerful acolytes, before finally turning against his dragon masters, and finding new strength and knowledge under the yoke of the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora. Miraak is demonstrating his fortitude by siphoning the island's All-Maker Stones, and enslaving its inhabitants. Miraak seeks to siphon the power of the All-Maker stones and has tainted them with evil, compelling the weaker-willed people of Solstheim into constructing strange shrines for this purpose.
The animistic Skaal hold these ancient carved stones to be evidence of their deity, part of a simple cosmology in which the All-Maker created all matter and the world. while these notions may seem primitive to Nords of Skyrim, the magic that courses through these stones is very real-so much so that Miraak seeks to siphon it and has tainted them with evil, compelling the weaker-willed people of Solstheim into constructing strange arched shrines for this purpose.

Miraak is the first Dragonborn, who long ago may have had a destiny to defeat Alduin, but instead chose another, more selfish path. After escaping into Apocrypha, Miraak has been growing in knowledge and power for centuries, all while awaiting his chance to return.
Miraak was the first Dragonborn. His destiny may have been to defeat Alduin bac in the Mythic Era, but he chose a different path: to use his Dragonbom abilities to gain power for himself. Originally a dragon priest, he was seduced by Hermaeus Mora and secretly became his disciple. He gathered a cult to Hermaeus Mora at his temple on Solstheim.

Eventually, the other dragon priests discovered Miraak's heresy and led a crusade against him. He was defeated, his followers killed or scattered, and his temple razed. But Miraak was able to escape into Hermaeus Mora's realm of Apocrypha, where he has been growing in knowledge and power over the centuries while he waited for a chance to return.

Miraak is siphoning the power of all of the All-Maker Stones, using the enthralled inhabitants of the island to do his dark bidding.
A lengthy subterranean crypt lies under one of the All-Maker stones, where the bones of dragons and recently constructed arches reveal the true extent of Miraak's power. Currently, the construction is built around a central stepped courtyard, where the ancient Tree Stone stands. Miraak is siphoning its power, and stone arches are being constructed by enthralled Reaver and Skaal workers, including Yrsa and Oslaf. Frea is here, hoping to remove the curse that has befallen her people. The completion of the Dragonborn Main Quest is required to remove the trance the Reavers and Skaal are under and cleanse the entire area of Miraak,s influence. After you meet with Frea, you can enter the temple here via a curved path carved into the edge of the courtyard.

This All-Maker Stone protrudes from the snowy ground northwest of the Skaal Village. Currently, Miraak is siphoning the stone's power, and stone arches are constructed by enthralled villages.

This is one of the All-Maker Stones, nestled just outside and southwest of Raven Rock. You may meet the Dunmeri mage Neloth here in the initial stages of the Dragonborn Main Quest, before he moves to Tel Mithryn. Currently, the stone's power is being siphoned by Miraak, and stone arches are constructed by enthralled town citizens and Redoran Guards.

This All-Maker Stone stands near the Dunmer settlement of Tel Mithryn. Currently, its power is being siphoned by Miraak, and stone arches are constructed by both enthralled Reavers and Ulves Romoran from TeI Mithryn (he moves back there once the spell is broken). The Bend Will Shout
is required to remove the trance the Beavers are under (after which, they attack the summoned Lurkers and may be hostile) and to cleanse the stone of Miraak's influence. ln addition to the summoned Lurker once the spell is broken, two additional Lurkers are formed down by the water and encroach on this combat. Beware!

All of the All-Maker Stones have been consumed by a strange green energy.
NOTE: This Earth Stone is one of Six Sacred Stones to be found on Solstheim. Much like the Standing Stones of Skyrim, they grant great power to those who seek it. However, at the moment, the stones are consumed by a strange green energy. Try to activate any Stone and you will awake to find yourself helping in the construction. You will free the thralls forced to build these shrines for Miraak later in this quest.

At almost every corrupted Allmaker-Stone site, you can find someone carrying small boulders back and forth (said boulder is about the size of their chest).

When using Bend Will on one of the All-Maker Stones, the person carrying the boulder ran over to see what was happening, while still carrying the boulder (to the left-hand side). The All-Maker Stone would then unleash a pulse of energy which destroys the dark constructs, making the stonework violently explode.

Clear your throat and bellow the Bend Will Shout directly at the stone. The rock arches glow red and then explode, snapping the Skaal villagers from their malaise. As the pieces of masonry fall away, something is summoned from Hermaeus Mora's realm!

Using Bend Will on the All-Maker Stones will remove Miraak's evil influence over them and the people of Solstheim, and restore the natural order. These stones maintain the Oneness of the land. Even if this does not stop Miraak, it would delay his return.
Dovahkiin: What happened when I Shouted at the Wind Stone?
Storn Crag-Strider: The power of the Stone had been corrupted. It was the source of the influence that had taken control of the Skaal. Your Shout broke whatever evil will controlled the Stone, and restored its true nature as a conduit of the All-Maker's gifts. Freeing the other Stones will diminish whatever dark influence is spreading across Solstheim.
Dovahkiin: Other Stones?
Storn Crag-Strider:
Yes. There are six sacred Stones – Wind, Water, Earth, Beast, Sun, and Tree. Through them the Oneness of the land is maintained. Frea saw that the Tree Stone now stands imprisoned in Miraak's new temple. I doubt you can free it until his power is broken. But you may be able to cleanse the other Stones. Even if this does not stop Miraak, it surely will delay his return.
Upon Miraak's death, Frea feels his dark influence has finally lifted from Solstheim.
Frea: I can feel it. The Tree Stone is free again. The Oneness of the land is restored. Does that mean... is it over? Is Miraak defeated?

The All-Maker Stones are described as being the size of frost giants (the All-Maker Stones are at least twice as tall as the giants and Frost Giants we see in Skyrim; closer to how big they are in ESO).
If you head west and southwest along the main thoroughfare and around to a promontory overlooking the town, you can see some villagers hard at work erecting a strange monument around an odd glowing sacred stone the size of a frost giant.

The All-Maker Stones that Miraak are corrupting are the same All-Maker Stones were once used in rituals during the time of the Bloodmoon.

These All-Maker Stones are said to be gifts from the All-Maker.

When you have completed the ritual, Korst Wind-Eye can feel the balance has been restored.

These stone are the Beast Stone, the Earth Stone, the Wind Stone, the Sun Stone, the Water Stone and the Tree Stone.

Miraaks takeover of Solstheim wasn't his first or only attempt to escape Apocrypha, and during the 2nd Era he made another attempt. He is refered to as the First Servant, and considered a myth even among other ciphers, spinning plots and gathering power.
Cipher Agrushna: I think I might wait a while before going inside. I don't know how long it will take the Daedra and Hushed of Quires Wind to recover from the madness caused by those corrupted scrolls. Or at least calm down.
Vestige: Cipher Sabinius had instructions from someone called the First Servant.
Cipher Agrusha: The First Servant? I thought he was a myth. One of those stories of Apocrypha ciphers sometimes tell each other. But if he's real, his ambitions might lead him to seek out a disaffected cipher in Quires Wind.
Such as Sabinius.
Vestige: So who or what is the First Servant?
Cipher Agrushna: A mortal who lived in the days when Dragons were worshiped as gods, or so it's said. Hermaeus Mora opened Apocrypha to the First Servant, and he's been here ever since. Spinning plots and gathering power. Sabinius must have fallen into his web.
Vestige: What do we do about the First Servant?
Cipher Agrushna: Nothing. By tampering with Quires Wind, the First Servant set himself against the Great Eye. If Hermaeus Mora still has a purpose for the First Servant, he'll spare him. If not, he'll destroy him.
It's out of our hands.
In this attempt, he has had corrupted scrolls placed into Quires Wind (a scriptorium where secrets are bound into tomes) by Cipher Sabinius, which drives many there to madness, both mortal and daedra alike.
Cipher Agrushna: Beware, stranger! Madness stalks Quires Wind. Most of my fellow ciphers are lost—the Hush has taken them. And the Daedra of the Wind have turned on those few of us who kept our minds.
They killed mortals who have worked here for decades!
Vestige: What is this place?
Cipher Agrushna: Quires Wind is a scriptorium. Here the Great Eye's Daedra bind secrets into tomes. Ciphers like me help with this sacred task, preparing materials. Ink, blank pages, bindings. But the new scrolls Cipher Sabinius brought to the Wind are corrupt!
Vestige:
Corrupt? How?
Cipher Agrushna: The scrolls give off a maddening aura. Sabinius left several hidden in the Wind. We need to destroy them, and make sure Sabinius has no more.
The Hush will take me if I go back. But an outsider like you should be able to resist. Can you help me?
Vestige: I'll destroy the corrupted scrolls and find Cipher Sabinius.
Cipher Agrushna: You'll find the corrupted scrolls hidden within Quires Wind. Sabinius is in there too. We can't leave him with any scrolls, blank or corrupt.
And watch out for Cipher Gelon. He's a clever alchemist, but I saw the Hush take him. He's dangerous.
Something strange is going on in the scriptorium of Quires Wind. Hermaeus Mora's servants, mortal and Daedra alike, have been corrupted by some outside influence. I agreed to investigate Quires Wind and deal with the source of corruption.

We finally have the blurb for the box for Betrayal of the Second Era!
Update 35 in The Elder Scrolls - Betrayal of the Second Era said:
Tamriel is in turmoil! As the continent is engulfed by the flames of war, a mysterious figure has decided she knows the true solution to the chaos. To impose her will, she would fundamentally alter the nature of reality, heedless of the consequences. Until now, she has been able to accomplish her objectives behind closed doors, but a daring group of adventurers has learned of her machinations and is working to defeat her before she can perpetrate the betrayal of the Second Era.

Umbriel's appearance causes waves and storms to affect the seas, being the end of one poor vessel and the souls within. The effects are compared with a tsunami, but it's something different as they're in deep water (also, the natural disasters that plagued Summerset during the Oblivion Crisis are referenced).

When Iffech felt the sea shudder, he knew. The wind had already fallen like a dead thing from the sky, gasping as it succumbed upon the iron swells, breathing its last to his mariner's ears. The sky always knew first; the sea was slow—dreadful slow—to come around.
The sea shook again—or, rather, seemed to drag beneath their keel. Up in the crow's nest Keem screamed as he was tossed out like a kitten. Iffech watched him twist and almost impossibly catch the rigging with those Cathay Raht claws of his.
"Stendarr!" Grayne swore, in her South Niben twang. "What was that? A tsunami?" Her feeble human gaze searched out through the dusk.
"No," Iffech murmured. "I was off the Summerset Isles when the sea tried to swallow them, and I felt one of those pass under us. And another, when I was younger, off the coast of Morrowind. In deep water you don't feel much. This is deep water."
Umbriel's appearance is first thought of as being a thunderhead/cumulonimbus, and is accompanied by a clap like lightning, but 40 times louder, which snaps the mast off the boat.
The Infernal City said:
And then he saw it, in the south, a sudden blackness, a crackle of green lightning, and then a form like a tall thunderhead billowed into being.
"Hold on!" he shouted.
And now came a clap like thunder but forty times louder, and a new fist of wind that snapped the mainmast, taking poor Keem to the death he had nearly seen. Then all was still again, except for the roaring in his damaged ears.
The energy Umbriel gives off is similar to that of an Oblivion Gate (even though Martin has shut all gates to Oblivion; at least all non-pact breaking ones).
The Infernal City said:
"I saw an Oblivion gate open once," she said. "When my father worked in Leyawiin. I saw things—it feels a little like that. But Martin's sacrifice—they say it can't happen again. And it doesn't look like a gate."
Another shockwave is unleashed (with something 'unbelievably foul' being carried on it), and the ship is destroyed.
The Infernal City said:
It wasn't shaped like a thunderhead, Iffech realized. More like a fat cone, point down.
Another wind was starting up, and on it something unbelievably foul.
"It doesn't matter what it is," he said. "Not to us."
And a few instants later it didn't.

During the Made Up Word Round Up (a discussion on the Bethesda Forums), Numidium is refered to as having the ability to alter the laws of nature and mathematics, to the point that time 'before' and 'after' the Dragon Break can be considered two different universes. This could also explain why even the nature of the cosmos is described differently in different installments.
Imagine an earlier universe where pi =1.2 for example ,and somebody effed with the axis mundi using a big stompy robot to make it approx 3.14. Paelonumerology would be the study of the old numbers and rules before the change...
