one thing I find equal parts interesting and suspicious is how Vector says he’s never met Xal
I can’t help but feel Sorenson and the other guys who worked on the more obscure lore were laying the ground for some weirder big stuff going forward that never made it in. But then again Sorenson also said once that Physis was just “I wanted a Flash Gordon type character” so who knows
this is the first time I have ever seen moon level for IDW guys, I wonder where they got that from?

i want them to bring multiverse stuff back man it was so cool, i hate this idea that writers having their own interpretations of characters and the tf mythos vs the multiversal singularities have to be mutually exclusive, i thought that was part of the reason the multiverse is so ridiculously huge in the first place; so authors can tell their own stories within it
whats weirder is the way singularities wound up playing out in AVP…they really aren’t mutually exclusive to unique individual interpretations? Those have even already existed for years. Bay’s Fallen was made without them probably having any idea what a singularity character was at all, so while it was part of it in the lore, the movie (and comic) guys were still able to play it however they felt.
I am openly not a fan of the shroud, and not because it’s sort of a big nerf to power levels, but because it restricts writing potential. It says a lot that it was ignored almost immediately both by japanese and english stories. Cyberverse was a whole ass post-shroud cartoon that had arcs centering around a multiverse aspect. Just let the writers have fun with it and use it or leave it as they see fit imo.
It also sucks bc FunPub dropped the Negative Multiverse on us deliberately after the shroud, meaning one cosmos being shrouded and the other not was a clear future plot idea…that we will probably never get resolved

i feel like its possible to salvage, after all hadnt it been confirmed that multiversal unicron for example is still sort of a thing thanks to the legends manga making him still a multiversal threat, i see no reason they cant just clarify that both singularity and non singularity versions of characters can exist, it doesnt even seem that confusing to me, theres already non singularity unicrons and primes and stuff, and dozens or probably hundreds of different versions of the same main characters and nobody somehow gets THEM confused as one person
im honestly kind of hoping legacy does something with the multiverse as a 40th anniversary thing, that would be pretty hype
weirdest part…AVP had already done this before the shroud even happened, and so had TFP since hasbro said “yeah this is not connected to anything lol” Vector mentions TFA not having singularities and how he could visit it without making an alternate version of himself or something: Basically there was no actual writing reason to do it, because they already had non singularity versions of characters. Or like, Rung in IDW. If Roberts had always planned him to be who he really was, that was pre-shroud too.
And yeah Legends manga had a Unicron both connected to every universe (this seems to be how japanese media handles the singularity concept? or an alarmingly similar idea, it’s mentioned in Cloud too) and almost collapse it by summoning too many people. This was a year after the shroud. You can say “the japanese writers just didn’t know” but then AVP itself said the shroud may not have affected everything. And again, there’s the fact that TFCC’s own writers showcase an unshrouded second multiverse in Epilogue II.
I think the Shroud may never have been a retcon mandate, and maybe was just part of a bigger plotline that got cut short, that they hoped they could continue one day. Late era tfcc stories have too many clues suggesting this.
Speaking of this it’s a shame that there’s no toy bios these days. Legacy should be dropping so much lore on us. All we know afaik is that Japan stuff says all these characters have come together in the “Legacy Universe”

I desperately need more space opera TF again. Universe: The Wreckers recently became a comic I just really love despite it both being incredibly rushed and maybe not the highest quality, it had that pulpy chaotic space adventure feel, with equally random plotlines coupled with genuine interesting direction that’s missing.
Basically, if you could give me an MTMTE type story, with a multiverse element (and really get weird and abstract with it, show us things we’ve never seen before) I’d be all over that. Bring Cryotek back from Unspace. Show us the Ebon Knights. Bring the Transtech back into the picture. Theres just so much potential not being tapped into

that might actually be the funniest thing to have ever happened in TF, especially because for no reason at all the character itself is such a liar, so it’s like he created himself. they really created a mechanism for literally infinite crossovers and barely use it, this is why i need image or someone to please bring it back, theres so much that could be done with this its practically a story generator on its own

since the real world exists in the tf multiverse imagine this was made canon as all part of sideways' plan and he is assuring his own existence like skynet or some shit
it was a blessing and a curse I think. there have been so many shitty crossovers done in other big series while TF’s multiverse would do weirdo shit like “hey here’s a universe where these dudes are all pirates for some reason, you havent heard of half of them, and Alpha Trion also used to be cheetor or something” so they dodged the oversaturation, but it can also be used to do really cool stuff as seen in Balancing Act, or like….the entire Shattered Glass plotline only working because Cliffjumper got there by accident. I was even a big fan of that tfcc story where it’s a Bayformers Megatron disguising himself as some random guy who helps fight against the diaclone Waruders
even weirder is I think the only textbook crossover was in Regeneration One with the Rodimus army.

true, i wouldnt want to go TOO crazy with it, as it does kind of feel like multiverse stuff is oversaturated as it is, but i gotta admit at some point i do kind of just want dumb fun with characters i like from different series, as long as its just not like utter slop
like at least for the 40th anniversary as a celebration of the franchise thatd be pretty sweet

squad of Primes taking on like a multiversal version of the Megatron Corps or some shit
like an evil mirror version of The Convoy in Axiom Nexus
that just makes me think, could you imagine what would happen if some incarnations of Megatron got ahold of Transtech level technology, itd be fucking mayhem
one thing I want to see is in a similar vein to how CAS wasn’t just some uber superman but also something more meaningful in the narrative, is something similar for Optimus and Megatron given their iconic status in the world. Alternity got the scope right but not the meaning and heft and weight the characters have had to children throughout the generations. I just feel like there’s a lot of room to tell a compelling story and blend it with some really crazy cosmic stuff, I think it could synergize well
