Shang is far more believable than Namor though. He at least fought a being that threatened the rest of the universe

Probably one of the bigger misconceptions I often see thrown around: Split Durability doesn't make much sense, actually.

One might see a character get punched with a city level attack and think "ah, but a sword or bullet could easily cut them!" However, weapons are just multipliers of force, and while slashing and piercing attacks are usually better (as they require less effort for results), they're still ultimately relying on force and kinetic energy for results. Granted attacks with swords or guns for example can produce similar levels of force as, say, a sledgehammer, with much less effort, but again, it's still force. So that example of a dude taking a city level punch? Bullets and knives aren't doing anything to him unless said weapons have city level feats or scale to said feats.

an example, there are two chars, both of them are city level+, but the one is to such degree where city level+ is just minimum, thats where the at least part, joins in, so a char who is at least city level+ is > the city level+ one, cuz he is in between city+ and island levels, and has surpassed that level but ain't island levels either

another thing is, cuz this thread is actually one of the best ones of 2022, in relation to terms and examples all of us used here, either @Aurelian or @Masterblack06 should sticky this thread, in order for noobs or lurkers to read it

and we can also post new examples, without having to bump it everytime

Characters being set in specific tiers doesn't automatically mean that they win a fight. an Island level character can lose to a city level character depending on the kinda shit they have going for them wether it be hax, skill, or something else.

We can't only think of vs debates in biggatons all the time

the char with the hax skills gonna win that fight, cuz the other, can't counter it, example losing from a bfr portal to another dimension or land

nukes the area, with a large aoe tech, so this outcome changes

Your gonna get hurt, not as much as you can hurt them but to assume your gonna take no damage is stupid as hell
