Watched a Red vs Blue retrospective yesterday. For the most part it was pretty good, but he started saying shit that was just stupid.
For example being surprised that Red vs Blue is so ANTI-WAR when Halo is the complete opposite? Yes the series with the fucked up military led Spartan program kidnapping children to forcibly turn them into super-soldiers and where one of its games ends with your character abandoned and you forced to play until your character inevitably dies HORRIBLY.
TOTALLY pro war am I right?
Bemoaning the Blood Gulch Chronicles for having a lot of "homophobia". Donut is literally the gay character and he's the one who gets to kill Tex, is so likeable that even the Blues like him at a point where they don't give a fuck about the rest of the reds, and despite characters cringing at his innuendos, it's not like people tell him to fuck off or shut up because he's gay.
They occasionally find him annoying but not because of that (it's more because he wont shut up in general) so I'm wondering where the supposed "homophobia" is, because making gay jokes isn't homophobic in and of itself.
Saying what separates Locus and Washington is weather they have empathy or not. No dumb fuck, that's what separates Locus from FELIX. Locus HAS empathy, that's his entire problem. He's the one suggesting they try to reason with the alien when it boards their ship and is obviously scared, is chewed out for it by his CO and ends up creating his whole "true soldier" philosophy in order to hide from his guilt at the shit he ends up doing, both as a soldier and as a mercenary. Felix meanwhile is the pure psychopath who delights in the misery he and Locus cause and keeps Locus broken so he wont leave.
What actually separated Locus from Wash was weather or not they hide from their crimes behind a smoke-screen. Locus does and Wash doesn't.
Like how do you misread a character that badly when your video is literally showing clips which disprove your point?
