You keep drawing lines in the sand over a community that as far as I can see doesn't exist. Who exactly are we "alienating" here by naming conventions?

If you want people to flock to the section to play unranked games I assure you this makes 0 difference in that regard, nor does it stop you from tracking stats in unranked if and when those games start taking off

Generally speaking it's pretty difficult to create a *completely* balanced role madness game, though one could theoretically exist

Basically if your game contains mechanics that are just going to be frustrating to play against with little fair chance to counterplay

All I wanted was the option to be open for those who want to do those kinds of games, separated from what you guys already have. that's all, didn't think it was that big of a deal to want a another name?

Let me narrow my point a bit further.

Show me the members of the "community" here that are:

A) Interested in playing your games/unranked games

and

B) Are suddenly unincentivized to play them by the fact that these games are not considered "ranked" or stat tracked despite years of playing such games and not giving a single shit about that.

The only person that can be identified at this intersection is you. Nobody has paused at the sign ups for a SRM game where there's two cults or whatever and has gone, "Wait a second, this game won't be factored in to my player statistics? Humbuggery! I shall not play!".

This has never happened, it's not going to happen.

I guess you can call it whatever the split whatever the fuck you want but honestly this is dumb. It's not a big deal but also your complaint is invalid. I like the current terminology and prefer it since "standard" doesn't really reflect how these games are perceived and treated by the players involved, but if you want to try and plug this hole so badly go knock yourself out. I'd sooner prioritize just getting games ran and people playing them if I were you though

my assassination classroom game was perfect ofc

lmao i still dont know y i thought i could host a game all by myself after id only played like 4-5 games
literally made 1 person scum and the rest town and gave everyone roles and whatnot

My point it who is it derogatory towards, not in some bullshit hypothetical sense. Show me a single person that enjoys these games - but is absolutely offended, appauled! - by the insinuation that they're not super serious or skill based.

You can't, because most people who have fun playing these know exactly what they're signing up for anyway.

This is probably not worth making a fuss about either way, but I gotta call it out for what it is - presentation of an "issue" that needs urgent fixing for the "community" when it's really a vanity fair for a single person.
