Good news; the Transformers special movie collaboration between Trigger, Transformers and the band Bump of Chicken (who also did the opening to Delicious in Dungeon) is out now! Akira Amemiya is the directer (as it should be), with all animation being lovingly hand drawn. The song featured is Mayday.

The Quetzacoatl is 3km long, thus making it the biggest monster, capable of swallowing any other monster in a single gulp. IT possesses overwhelming power, and can travel through the land, sea and skies at incredible speeds.

The Groundwork of Gurren Lagann: The Lights in the Sky is a book comprising the different keyframes for The Lights in the Sky are Stars, and in itself doesn't have much in the ways of lore. It does, however, contain a few snippets of importance. The Anti-Spiral is said to emerge from the rift of the Mugan Gate.

In" Denkou Chojin Gridman," which is said to be the original source of SSSS.Gridman, the world inside the computer, the Computer World, was depicted. The computer world is a world different from the real world, and it exists inside the computer. When we think of the world inside the computer, we can imagine a virtual reality space like virtual reality. In the Computer World, not such a virtual world of data, but a substance has a real mass, and organisms such as electric animals and compoids also live in it. It's kind of like a different world. The Computer World has a world for each computer, such as the world of medical computers, the computer world in telephone offices, and the world of electronic organs, and each is connected by a path of light called Pass Route. I have rewatched Gurren Lagann at long last! Of course, I picked up a few new things and remembered some old things (such as either LordGenome or Tepplin powering all of the beastmen's gunmen, and with the Spiral Kings defeat all of the beastman gunmen stop working), and a lot of stuff from pre-timeskip gets overlooked (for instance, the appearence of a galaxy during the Giga Drill Break may be due to Spiral Power being drawn from galaxies in other dimensions).

Enki's special attack is a heat ray with enough power to wipe out a mountain.

A deadly head ray attack fired from the beetle on top of Enki's head. It is fired by concentrating energy called the "Enki-San Attack." It's destructive power is enough to wipe out a mountain, and even a gunmen would not be able to survive a direct hit. Its only weakness is that it takes some time to concentrate the energy.

When Viral confronts Gurren Lagann in the throne room, not only had he been made immortal, but Enkidu had also been upgraded to a new four-armed form called Enkidudu. However, even this form was still effortlessly defeated.

Enkidu was no match for him, and Viral was forced to power up even more. He removed his Enkiragger and equipped himself with four long swords. With four arms, he became a four-sword user and once again stood in front of Gurren Lagann. He was the last stronghold of the defence of the royal capital, Teppelin. In front of Spiral King LordGenome, he challenged Gurren Lagann to a final battle. It seems Viral thought that with Enkidu's power he could fight on equal terms or better, but...

More confirmation that Enkidu was effortlessly defeated.

"About 10 years ago, a friend of mine happened to buy a toy from Age of Extinction. It was an Optimus Prime, a figure close to the design of the early animated series, and when I saw it, I felt nostalgic and was interested in what the toys were like today. I was shown a little bit and tried to move it, and it was interesting to see how the transformation mechanism had evolved a lot compared to the old days. From there, I suddenly became interested in it, went to the theater to see Age of Extinction, got excited, and started buying all kinds of toys. Before I knew it, I had about 100 Transformers toys in about a year (laughs). Fortunately, there were many Transformers fans around me, so I was able to collect them while asking them for recommendations on what toys to buy, and I felt like I liked them more and more from there."

Sakamoto usually works mainly on character design, so he often draws illustrations of quietly standing human characters, and rarely has a chance to draw mechanics. "When I was drawing for this poster project, I was a little hesitant, thinking, 'I like mecha, but am I allowed to draw them?' (laughs), but I had a lot of fun and was able to draw them. It was fun to draw mecha in this way, so I'm really glad I was able to be involved. If I had to say one wish without thinking about whether it would be possible, I would like to try making a short movie derived from 'Transformers/ONE' with this taste that I draw myself."

He also included some little details in the illustration that you wouldn't notice at first glance. "The picture shows a sense of teamwork, but the gun barrel on Megatron's left arm is actually pointed at Optimus' head. I drew it hoping to hint at the developments that follow, or to suggest a sense of unease," he said, explaining the little details hidden in the composition.

For Sakamoto, the existence of "Transformers" has had a great influence on his "work" even though it started as a "hobby". In particular, he says that his relationship with director Amemiya Satoshi, with whom he worked on TRIGGER, changed significantly as a result of "Transformers".

"Because I fell in love with 'Transformers', the scope of my work has expanded quite a bit. Amemiya-san, who I worked with on 'SSSS.GRIDMAN', was my senior, but actually, I didn't have a chance to talk to him at first. I got hooked on 'Transformers' and we started talking about toys a lot, and that's how I was able to participate in planning meetings, and I think that part of the reason I was able to design characters for 'SSSS.GRIDMAN' was because of 'Transformers'. 'Transformers' was not just a work I loved, but in a sense it was a "turning point in my life".

"I think that people who usually watch TRIGGER's works love anime, but don't watch many Transformers-related works. However, for me and Amemiya-san, the knowledge and ideas we gained from Transformers are included in the creation of our works, and they exist as the core of our idea sources. Transformers/ONE is made in a way that makes it easy for people who have never seen the previous series to get into it, so I hope that they will watch what we like and feel something.

On the other hand, it is a unique work in that it only features robots and does not feature any human characters, but I think that the story of the relationship between Optimus and Megatron, which many people know even if they have never seen Transformers properly, is an extremely enjoyable element, so I hope that you will pay attention to that and watch it as an introduction. And I would be happy if you get hooked on Transformers from there."
