Bruh she literally hands you the item you need to get to Lusat
That wasn't hers. It belonged to a Sellian sorcerer, and they gave it to her. All she knew was that it could break the barrier holding him.
A place called Sellia, in the eastern Caelid Wilds. Thinking about it, I obtained the glintstone key I gave you from a Sellian sorcerer. It wouldn't be too much of a leap to suppose he's still cooped up nearby. The fact someone else was steering her toward him makes it clear there are other players here manipulating things in the background.
Uh what personal costs? She downright states she was exiled for participating in the research and we know what the research on the current was doing
She explicitly mentions no matter what they give in return. Not what others give in return. This is probably referencing the fact they become like crystallians. It's a side-effect of continually using the primeval current, but the problem is that it takes a long time to actually stick. Her change was sudden and abrupt. Suggesting another external factor was involved.
If you mean her body thats even more damning as even Jerren says this isn't the first time she's switched bodies and the fact that theres a graven mass protecting her body in WP doesn't help
She was being held prisoner in the Witchbane Ruins and tortured. This is her dialogue when you find her earlier before she asks you to save her.
It will do no good, I swear it...and yet you persist, you frothing degenerates...A...argh! It wasn't her hiding place. It was where the Carian Royals were keeping her prisoner. That's why I said another primeval sorcerer was acting against her. Since only primeval sorcerers can do that.
Sellen brings them to the academy and its after she oops herself into a graven mass that you can go back and loot them implying they "were" alive when you met them.
I doubt it was Sellen who giant balled herself. Since unless she literally wanted to become a star it doesn't make sense. It's something you have to do on purpose.
A conspectus isn't a person its an aspect. Her conspectus was moon sorcery and after showing it she was made leader of the academy. My guess is the only reason she didn't take grandmaster as a title is because her titles already queen
A conspectus is both a branch of sorcery, and a title referring to the founder of said branch. Lunar sorcery didn't exist until Rennala introduced it to the academy, and she learned it from studying the moon itself. Nobody taught her. She wasn't made the leader of the academy. The Carian Royals took over, and ejected the other founders at some point. Then the Cuckoos rebelled, infighting happened, and Rennala's own followers trapped her in the Grand Library. After they became disllusioned with her when she became an invalid.
You wouldn't have to engage in direct combat with two ancient old dudes who couldn't even speak to kill them
You can try to kill them yourself but it's impossible. I doubt it's an oversight either. Since, for example with Gowry, he doesn't stay dead because he has access to other bodies and body hops. And he notes as such to you when he returns.
They're powerful enough that they somehow rendered themselves untouchable even to the likes of the player character, and it's not because they are in a peace zone either. Attacking them isn't impossible. Hurting them at all is.
I'll have to play through it again honestly since I haven't done sorcery since my first playthrough but I'm 90% sure all signs pointed to her being guilty which is why I was sad to kill Jerren
I disagree. There's a lot of signs that there are other people conspiring together in the academy for control over it, and she is just another one of their victims. As she is caught in the crossfire, and attempts to bring back the tradition of the primeval current. Which was made forbidden after the Carian Royals took over.
